“Few little tweaks/updating and this cottage will be amazing.”

The garden furniture is in poor state/broken and needs replacing, chipped plates, the one bed is not comfortable, but do not want to sound negative as we so enjoyed the cottage and will definitely book again. Location is great. Lovely vibe in Aberdaron.

“This cottage is in a brilliant location.”

It's position is wonderful and the space in front is really good. The inside downstairs is pretty good with great sofa and tv and internet. Kitchen area also good. However upstairs, apart from the bathroom is a bit shabby and the beds extremely old and uncomfortable. The outside bins were full and the recycling overflowing when we arrived and were not emptied while we were there. The floors in the cottage were not especially clean when we arrived. So overall, though we had a good holiday would not rush back to this cottage without some improvement being assured.

“Wonderful cottage with bags of character.”

Great location, plenty of parking. Near all local amenities. Spacious and well kitted out with quality kitchen and bathroom. Comfy sofa and good wifi. Shower was awesome. Would definitely recommend! The only snag we had was a struggle to dry things after being at the beach and walking in the rain (swimwear, coats, clothes, boots & towels). As it was so rainy, we couldn't dry on the washing line and there wasn't anywhere warm inside, as its summer the heating was understandably turned off. But with better weather this wouldn't have mattered. Super cottage, loved it!

“Lovely cottage, very clean, excellent location and near to beach, pubs, spar, bakery.”

It was great getting up in morning and watching the rabbits, beautiful outside space for sitting in to have a morning coffee. Stairs are narrow and steep but got used to them,

“It's a lovely place to stay near the beach and village centre.”

It could do with a bit of TLC and modernisation (maybe some more comfortable mattresses). It would be helpful to have some kind of guide in the house for when to put the many bins out, shop/pub opening times or even things to do locally. Otherwise we had a great week there and would recommend the beautiful little house just on the outskirts of the village.

Sykes could not get hold of the owners so we had to put up with cold showers for the duration of the visit.

“We had a fantastic stay in the lovely cosy cottage during half term.”

It is in a great location, close to all the facilities in the village and the beach yet it was very peaceful. We enjoyed trying to count all the wild rabbits that were hopping around the garden. On arrival at the cottage we found the fridge to be dirty, inside and out and also there were big cobwebs in the lounge area but the rest of the cottage was lovely and clean. Both Sykes and the owner were both very quick to respond to an issue we encountered during our stay which we were thankful for. The kitchen could benefit from having a little freezer put in as there is not an ice compartment in the fridge to keep icepacks frozen for picnics on a nice sunny day. As other guests before us have mentioned we also found the council recycling bins full. After asking around we discovered that the recycling goes loose in the Gaskells waste management green bin along with bagged up general rubbish and that it gets picked up on a Tuesday and Friday morning. It wasn't collected on Tuesday from outside the house. We transferred all the recycling from the council boxes into the Gaskells bin and a local person then told us to wheel the bin to the roadside at the entrance to the carpark next to the Spar shop on Thursday night and hey presto it was emptied on Friday morning! There was no information folder about rubbish collection, heating in the cottage etc and if you added one it would be very useful.

“Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting stunning village but cottage not very clean dusty and cobwebs and soft furnishings and bedding not very comfortable.”

Cushions on sofa stained. No welcome pack to explain about the cottage or area, ie heating, tv. Medical facilities.

“Wonderful stay in a friendly and welcoming location.”

The cottage is delightful, very comfortable and cosy, but it is worth noting that the stairs are incredibly steep with very shallow treads, making them difficult to negotiate. We loved our stay - thank you!

“Overall we had an enjoyable stay but there was quite a few issues that I thought could have been improved on.”

, I, e , grubby blanket over settee ( I presume for a dog but as we didn't have a dog wasn't needed) from previous reviews and still an issue two rads need bleeding as only hot at the bottom , ( more a issue as the time of season we went ) garden chairs and table full of bird pooh , ( could be sheeted up ) It's the only property that we have not had any information about local area and workings of heating etc

Parts of the cottage dusty. Very disappointed as we left an expensive new dog coat behind, emailed & texted owner the same day, telling him where exactly it was, no response at all.

Good restsurants, all of which ,plus a beautiful beach ,are within 2-3 minutes walk. It would have been helpful to have a brochure of suggestions of places to visit and a timetable and availability of bus services.Also some advice would have been welcome about usage of the TV. and electrical appliances (which were excellent) Perhaps also ,mention should be made of the steep and narrow staircase from the ground floor to the upper floor for those who are of portly nature or have mobility issues. Thankfully this wasn't a problem for us. Children were well- provided for ...and dogs too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Glanrafon Cottage.

This charming, detached 200 year old, stone walled cottage is conveniently located in the heart of Aberdaron, North Wales.

Glanrafon is a superb choice for families or two couples wishing to explore this vibrant North Wales region.

It is just a minute walk to a range of shops, cafés and pubs, plus the magnificent Traeth Aberdaron beach, affording a convenient location.

After a day out, relax in the open-plan living area which features plush sofas, a Smart TV.

Venture to the kitchen, which is well equipped for the demands of home cooking, and create a delectable meal while the rest of the company sets the dining table with tableware and utensils.

The internal staircase is narrow and steep and may not be suitable for the less mobile.

Take advantage of the patio garden on those sunny evenings and relax on the patio furniture, planning your next trip to a North Wales site.

Upstairs, two lovely double bedrooms are served by a bathroom with bath and shower above, allowing you to choose how you want to ready for the day.

The lovely fishing community of Aberdaron is a great place to visit; the harbour is surrounded on one side by a beach and on the other by a golden expanse, with the National Trust - Llyn Peninsula on the eastern side.

Another sandy option is Traeth Porth Meudwy, a nearby slate quarry that is now a nature reserve, and Porth Simdde, a sandy cove with a small beach immediately north of Aberdaron.

Many scenic trails can be found in the area, many of which connect to the Welsh Coastline Path, opening up miles of unspoiled coastal and clifftop hikes.

Visit the Italianate town of Portmerion, the picturesque Snowdonia National Park, and the Isle of Anglesey for a day trip.

The seaside village of Aberdaron is peacefully situated around two streams, and facing the sea. Straggling up the hills are the buildings that give Aberdaron its character; the lime-washed fishermen's cottages, the cafes, shops, and hotels, and the church of St Hywyn. On each side of the river's mouth is the beach for walking and playing on, and a promenade where you can watch the sailing boats and regattas in the bay.
