The property

Melville House is a wonderful, detached house located on the coast in Abersoch.

This is a fantastic setting for a large family seaside getaway, with reverse-level accommodation that exudes style throughout.

After parking in one of the four large parking spaces, wander to the first floor to find an excellent open-plan living space that is bathed in light, thanks to the large sliding doors, and features a TV with Freeview for you to cosy up to in the evenings. The kitchen is a fantastic space, and hosts several appliances such as a spacious fridge/freezer and dishwasher; there is also a convenient breakfast bar that seats up to four people.

The dining table is a sophisticated setting for dinner, with studded seating for you to settle down on as you tuck into a mouthwatering meal.

After dinner, spend a sunny evening on the large balcony, catching up with your friends and reminiscing about the day's events.

When it's time to retire for the night, there are two pleasant bedrooms on the first floor, one a double and the other a twin, both having access to a stylish shower room with contemporary tiling and a double walk-in shower.

Descend the stairs to the ground floor to find two further bedrooms, one of which is a magnificent king-size with plenty of built-in storage and a fantastic en-suite shower room with a double walk-in shower with a rainfall shower head, as well as a double bunk room that is perfect for the kids.

The ground-floor is completed with a snug area where those seeking a little more privacy, or the youngsters, may rest while watching TV; the snug opens out to a raised patio where you can take advantage of the plentiful seats while enjoying a morning coffee or engrossing book.

Climb down the stairwell from the balcony to find a spacious patio with sun loungers and a large back lawn perfect for ball games.

A short walk will take you into the heart of Abersoch, where you can enjoy local cuisine in a variety of eateries before strolling down to the village's beaches, where you can sunbathe on the smooth sands or try your hand at sailing at Abersoch Sailing School.

Travel along the coast, either on the Lln Coastal Path or by car, to the picturesque community of Llanbedrog, where you'll discover the fantastic art gallery of Plas Glyn Y Weddw, a large beach, and plenty of coastal walking trails.

Travel west to Hells Mouth Beach, pausing in the small village of Llanengan along the route to explore the expansive dunes and paddle along the shoreline before continuing to Plas yn Rhiw, a historic attraction where you can spend an afternoon in a 16th century manor house.

There are many sites to view in the area, including the nature reserve atop Mynydd Mawr and the numerous villages that have settled on the Lln Peninsula, notably the market town of Pwllheli.

Melville House provides a great deal of enjoyment for all the family.

About the location

ABERSOCH

Pwllheli 6 miles.

The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
