“This was our second stay at Ty Cynon having stayed at the property nine years ago for our honeymoon and we will definitely be going back again.”

The property is situated on a hill and a bit tricky to get to initially, but if you follow the directions given you will get there. The property was spotlessly clean and ideal for a getaway or a family of four. WiFi is good and easily ran our fire stick. The beds are super comfy and the cottage is supplied with everything you need for a stay. Local amenities are a short walk and local bus/rail close by. Plenty to do in blenau ffestiniog itself including zip world and steam train rides to ...

Plenty to do in blenau ffestiniog itself including zip world and steam train rides to portmadoch and back. Thirty minute drive to Betys I coed and fifty minutes to Mount Snowdon. We can't wait to come back again and are hoping to make this property an annual visit.

The property

A wonderful double fronted stone-built, semi-detached character cottage, in an elevated hillside location Fucheswen, this property is ideal for couples. High above the historic mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, enjoy lovely views encompassing the Moelwyn mountain range.

Ty Cynon is located on a single track ‘no through’ road in a tucked away location which makes it a wonderful ‘get away from it all’ retreat whilst still being a short stroll from the town centre and all its amenities.

The cottage provides a perfect base for either a couple, friends or a small family who enjoy outdoor pursuits, country and hillside walks, all of which can be enjoyed right from the cottage doorstep.

Furnished with style and full of character with exposed beams and stonework, Ty Cynon provides cosy, well-equipped accommodation and itÂ’s said even has links with the British sculptor, David Nash who has now settled in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

On entering this delightful cottage you are welcomed into a charming sitting room with warming wood burning stove set in an old stone inglenook fireplace, and an intimate dining area where you can sit and unwind after a day walking in the surrounding mountains.

The fully-fitted modern kitchen with breakfast counter is well-equipped and will cater for all your needs whilst upstairs, two individually styled bedrooms, both enjoying far reaching mountainous views are serviced by a well-appointed bathroom.

Outside, an enclosed seating area leads off the kitchen, and a steeply-terraced rear garden offers views over the rooftops, as well as a relaxing seating area which provides a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening and watch the sun go down behind the mountains.

The famous Ffestiniog to Porthmadog Steam Railway starts its journey less than a mile away, and for the more adventurous there is ZipWorld Titan, Zip Caverns and Bounce Below close by whilst the coastal towns of Harlech and Criccieth, with their medieval Castles and wonderful sandy beaches and hidden coves are reached in just 30 minutes.

With Snowdonia on the doorstep, and Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula easily reached, this is a perfect Blaenau Ffestiniog cottage for all to enjoy, whatever the time of year.
