Annie “The most beautiful barn in a perfect location.”
- Annie, October 2021 -
Adele “A wonderful spacious property with a beautiful garden.”
Well equipped and comfortable. An excellent base for exploring Conwy and surrounding areas
- Adele, August 2021Caren “Loved the cottage, very spacious and had everything we needed.”
Also loved the little touches that you don't expect, like cleaning equipment and washing up liquid etc.
- Caren, June 2021Chloe “The house was extremely comfortable and welcoming as well as being beautiful.”
And very peaceful. Being able to walk on the Bodnant footpaths was a big bonus as they were all gorgeous. Thank you also to the Menai staff member who checked for feather bedding as my husband would have really suffered if we had gone unprepared!
- Chloe, May 2021Louise “The Old Barn was even lovelier than it looked in the pictures.”
I loved waking up to beautiful views. It is well equipped and even in the colder weather it was possible to snuggle up and stay warm. Our only problem was the address supplied, which we gave to the supermarket delivery people for our online shop. They couldn't find us and we had no phone reception to 'talk them in'. Suggest the address line should read: The Old Barn, Old Bodnod, etc., etc. A minor hiccup in a lovely holiday!
- Louise, October 2019Thank you for sending your feedback and so pleased you enjoyed your stay and we will check and amend the address where needed. Property Owner
Steven “Comfortable spacious barn conversion.”
Be aware kitchen is quite small if planning catering for 6-7 people. It’s well equipped though.
- Steven, August 2019Thank you for your feedback. The kitchen is well equipped to cater for the maximum 6 people the house sleeps. Property Owner
“We loved The Old Barn and would definitely go back again.”
Beautiful settings and well thought out, everything a family could need. My 6year old son didn't want to leave! The only negative... and it didn't effect our stay at all...we thought the place could do with a deeper clean and some fine tuning in some areas. We understand that it's a well used place in the country with some quirks and that's what we loved. Also the local pub was lovely, great local and Bodnant gardens was a fantastic place to visit..right on our doorstop. Lovely place!
- , Jun 2019“The Barn was full of character, spacious but with some little windows with deep sills which delighted our grand-daughter (and large french doors).”
High ceiling, beams, large bedrooms, cosy ambiance, lovely garden, it was all charming. The kitchen is very well stocked up, tea-towels, bin bags, cleaning products are provided. Plenty of towels for each person, books, games, very homely. The location close to Bodnant Gardens and Conwy was great. We were sorry to leave this lovely place and hope to come back. A perfect family retreat.
- , Jun 2019A Phillips “Fantastic property, can't say more than I could quite happily live there.”
Great location to see all of North Wales and what a incredible place it is.

- , Aug 2017Mark “Lovely cottage.”
Great location, clean, cozy and all for a great price. Can't fault it.
- Mark, Jul 2016The property
The Old Barn is exactly what it says it is, a splendid stone building.
Now carefully restored it is a fun holiday house in a peaceful location with a very pretty, small enclosed garden, just a short walk from the well known Bodnant Gardens. "I love The Old Barn!
Completely different with lots of interesting features, such as the stairs, the splendid living space with French doors opening on to a small garden & the balcony in one of the bedrooms." Nestling in the heart of the Conwy valley known for its spectacular scenery, Llanrwst, Snowdonia, Betws Y Coed and Llandudno, with its great theatre which has regular visits from the Welsh National Opera, are all a short drive away.
Warm, snug and cosy, The Old Barn is just the retreat to relax and recharge your batteries whether you visit on your own or with friends. Short breaks are available during the quieter months with flexible changeover days.

About the location
EGLWYSBACH
Conwy 8 miles; Llandudno 9 miles; Betws-y-Coed 12 miles.
The village of Eglwysbach is in the wonderful Conwy Valley, which is renowned for its beautiful countryside, scenic walks and the world famous Bodnant Gardens. Nearby Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is one of Britain's most unspoilt historic towns. A true medieval gem, the town is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls - fortified with 21 towers and three gateways, the walls form an almost unbroken shield around the old town. There's plenty to enjoy in Conwy - the picturesque fishing harbour, National Trust's Aberconwy House, Britain's "smallest house" (worth an interesting, if quick, visit!) as well as the town's shops, pubs and restaurants. Close by are good beaches along the North Wales coast and excellent walking, mountain biking, canoeing, climbing and surfing in Snowdonia and the surrounding hills.
Note: Unfortunately, access can not be permitted to the house or grounds before 1600 under any circumstances, so please make sure you do not arrive before that time. There is a National Trust tea room 150 yards to the North at the Bodnant Garden car park.
Note: Except for the parking strip and the garden which adjoins the house shown on the plan, the land immediately around the Old Barn is private and NOT available to guests. Public footpaths are shown on the OS map provided. In addition, by kind consent of the Bodnant Estate, guests are welcome to walk the network of private tracks which is identified by green timber gates marked 'Strictly Private'.
Note: There is a £200 Good House Keeping Bond. Are you on the phone to our call centre? Your Customer ID is: fe7g69r8
