“A fantastic remote getaway in a beautiful house.”

Our group really enjoyed some hiking, getting a drink down at Y Ring in Llanfrothen before sitting by the fire to play some games and have a few beers. The host was very helpful and attentive via WhatsApp when we had questions and the house was in a great condition when we arrived. Only pieces of constructive feedback would be the rear door needs some repairs as shutting it requires some force but the wood is cracked, meaning you need to take care when going in and out to make sure it's ...

The host was very helpful and attentive via WhatsApp when we had questions and the house was in a great condition when we arrived. Only pieces of constructive feedback would be the rear door needs some repairs as shutting it requires some force but the wood is cracked, meaning you need to take care when going in and out to make sure it's locked, without causing further damage. Also it may be an idea to get a couple of boards to keep at the property to help smaller cars navigate the drive in wet conditions. A FANTASTIC spot though, would heartily reccomend it!

Despite its tranquil location, a wide range of activities are within easy reach of the house, including mountains, beaches, castles, towns and pretty villages. The house is built from traditional Welsh materials and has been beautifully decorated and furnished, with many character features, including wooden beams, whitewashed stone walls, a grand Stanley range cooker in the kitchen, and a large inglenook fireplace with a real fire and a bread oven in the living room.

Complementing these character features, the cottage has modern facilities, including wireless internet access and Freesat HD TV. Croesor Bach sleeps up to nine people, in four bedrooms, with one bathroom.

The cottage is an ideal retreat for a large family holiday or for groups of friends seeking peace and solitude amongst stunning scenery, yet close to a wide range of activities. Croesor Bach is approached up a quarter of a mile long private drive, which opens out into a large parking area.

The house is entered via an Entrance Hall/Boot Room, which leads into the kitchen. The main ground floor rooms are: Kitchen: The heart of the house, containing a large oak dining table, with seating for eight (nine, with an extra chair), free standing wooden units and a grand Stanley range cooker.

The kitchen has an abundance of farmhouse character, yet is equipped for modern living, with facilities including a microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge freezer and 5 ring gas hob; Dining room: Leading off the kitchen, the dining room is another beautiful farmhouse room, with wooden beams and a wooden floor.

The large dining table has six chairs and can seat nine, by adding chairs from the kitchen dining table; Living room: Also accessed from the kitchen, the living room contains three large leather sofas and an inglenook fireplace, with a real fire and bread oven.

There is also a Freesat HD TV, DVD player and an iPod dock. Wooden stairs lead up from the living room to the landing, off which are four bedrooms and a family bathroom, all with lovely wooden floors: Bedroom 1: Contains a double bed and a single bed; Bedroom 2: Contains two single beds; Bedroom 3: Contains a double bed; Bedroom 4: Contains a double bed; Family bathroom: Contains a bath, separate shower cubicle, toilet and basin. About the location

PENRHYNDEUDRAETH

Portmeirion 2 miles; Porthmadog 3 miles; Beddgelert 7.7 miles.

The large village of Penrhyndeudraeth boasts a selection of shops and a variety of restaurants, Post Office and a railway station which takes you along the Ffestiniog Railway. Just two miles away is the celebrated unique Italianate village of Portmeirion, which was the location of the TV show The Prisoner, and is surrounded by sandy beaches and captivating woodlands. The harbour town of Porthmadog is a little further along, where you can journey along the Ffestiniog Railway to the slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, "the town that roofed the world". To the north is the pretty village of Beddgelert, which is set around the Afon Glaslyn River and offers craft shops, pubs, tea rooms, restaurants, and an enchanting riverside walk, and it’s also located in the stunning Snowdonia National Park, from where you can spend hours admiring the beautiful scenery on foot or by bike. Penrhyndeudraeth is an ideal base for exploring the Llyn Peninsula, Snowdonia National Park and many other places in North Wales.

Note: Croesor Bach is approached up a quarter of a mile long private drive, the final section of the road is uneven gravel tracks and some smaller/sport cars may experience difficulty.

Note: Bed linen and bath mats are provided and guests are requested to bring their own towels and tea towels.

Note: The house is located in a peaceful location and requires two cattle gates to be manually opened and closed en-route and weather conditions can be unpredictable with no dedicated road lighting during the last few miles of the journey, therefore, a torch and an umbrella are strongly recommended.

Note: Croesor Bach is a period property, and has character features, including relatively narrow and steep stairs, some low beams and two floors, which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility.
