About the location

CAPEL GARMON

Betws-y-Coed 2 miles; Llanrwst 5 miles.

Capel Garmon is a small peaceful village set above the beautiful Conwy Valley and surrounded by pastureland, with wonderful views of the Snowdonia Mountain Peaks, especially Moel Siabod. There is a traditional 16th Century country pub with a blazing log fire and home cooking, and also a renowned Neolithic burial chamber. Two miles away, Betws-y-Coed is North Wales' most popular inland resort and is surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country, a haven for walkers and cyclists. At Betws-y-Coed the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, and the beauty of the area is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges. Most famous of all are the magnificent Swallow Falls, situated where the Llugwy River hurls itself into a spectacular chasm. This picturesque village has quality shops, pubs and restaurants and is home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre.
