CEFN BERAIN

Denbigh 5 miles.

Only five miles from the market town of Denbigh is the hamlet of Cefn Berain. The area surrounding Cefn Berain is ideal for walking, cycling, canoeing and quad biking, plus just one mile away is the Open Door Adventure centre. Denbigh dates back to the 11th century and boasts the remains of a 13th century castle, perched on a steep hill above the town and commanding some superb views over the surrounding countryside. Denbigh is a busy little town, with a variety of shops and pubs, and a number of events including walking festivals, beer festivals, the Denbigh and Flint Annual Show, the ClayArt Potters Market and a monthly People's market. Within easy reach of Denbigh are the cathedral at St Asaph, the castle at Bodelwyddan, the seaside resorts of Rhyl, Prestatyn or Colwyn Bay, and the historic city of Chester, over the border into England. The Snowdonia National Park is a short drive, with its stunning lakes, mountains, walking and cycling, while the Lleyn Peninsula and excellent beaches on the Isle of Anglesey are ideal for a day trip.
