  • “Lovely feel to this charming house.”

Very much , home from home.

Very much , home from home. Stunning views from all rooms. Very comfortable beds. Convenient spot for exploring Portmadog and the Lleyn. I could imagine living there, enjoying the seasons with the open fires plus the central heating. The changing views of the coastline and the friendly local people made it a relaxing Summer break.

The property

Standing in the most fantastic location, Haul A Gwynt (translated means Sun & Wind) enjoys breathtaking views along the coastline of North Wales, Criccieth Castle and the mountains beyond. Amazing views, cosy open fire, beautiful gardens and only a short stroll into the town of Criccieth with its beautiful beach, famous ice cream parlour, independent shops and lovely restaurants make this a popular holiday house all year round! "Ideally situated overlooking the pretty town of Criccieth with uninterrupted views over the beach and Cardigan Bay, this spacious family home has been a favourite with Menai Holidays guests for many years." The restaurants, pubs and cafes serve good food using fresh local produce, and there are interesting individual shops, and a great delicatessen.

The Idris Cafe is the best bread shop for miles, with wonderful chocolate eclairs! A short drive takes you to Porthmadog and the Italianate village at Portmeirion, the Welsh Highland Railway and on into Snowdonia.

Travelling in the opposite direction, you will arrive at Pwllheli, a busy marina town and terminus for the mainline rail link to Shrewsbury.

Criccieth also has a railway station - a great way for extra guests to arrive.

Further along this beautiful coastline are Llanbedrog and the ever-popular Abersoch.
