“Beautiful house with original features and stunning views.”

Pengolwg was a lovely holiday home in a great location. The photos don’t do the views from the house justice - amazing outlook onto the castle and the whole of the bay. Coast path walks virtually from the door in both directions. House was perfect for us as a group of 4 couples - we had a bathroom each! Pengolwg was a lovely holiday home in a great location. The photos don’t do the views from the house justice - amazing outlook onto the castle and the whole of the bay. Coast path walks virtually from the door in both directions. House was perfect for us as a group of 4 couples - we had a bathroom each! The beds were very comfortable and the house was cozy particularly with the Aga and the effective central heating. We easily fit 4 cars on the drive. Criccieth was an ideal base from which to explore the area. Oh, and we were very lucky with the weather! There are areas of the house that could do with some updating (e.g. some of the curtains) but they didn’t spoil our enjoyment of the house and the owner was friendly and very responsive when the battery in a smoke detector needed replacing. Definitely highly recommend.

The property

This holiday house has a fantastic history.

Once home of the Prime Minister David Lloyd George, Pengolwg means "lookout point" and it was from this spot that the women of Criccieth would stand to look out for their loved ones returning from sea on the tall ships!

"Wonderfully high ceilings, roaring log burners, carpets that will eat your feet and views across the sea, both castles and the rolling welsh coastline from almost every window help this wonderfully stylish house set itself apart from the others." Just an easy walk to Criccieth town centre which is laden with pubs, shops, restaurants and cafe's, on your way to or from the beach.

A brilliant central hub for exploring all of the Llyn Peninsula as well as having Snowdonia right behind you.

This house is just right to relax in after a day of adventure, or equally luxurious to spend the days in reading a book in front of the fire and playing board games.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
