“Misleading saying it has electric central heating and log burner, the cottage was very cold (March) and we found that the logs were the source of heating for the cottage which we had to buy lots of!”

There was two small fan heaters that we had to use which without them it would have been unbearable to be honest. No cupboard to put our weeks groceries in, so the worktop was the only place to put them, and there’s no parking, don’t park on the church car park as you will get a notice asking for money! We stay at many cottages each year and this is the first time we have felt let down by what we consider important issues.

Good afternoon, thanks so much for staying with us at Merrion Cottage. I'm sorry that your feedback wasn't more positive, like all of our other reviews, especially as the photos and description of our cottage do cover the points raised. We provided logs for you well in excess of the usual amount we provide for guests generally, both at the beginning of your stay and even part way through due to the forecast cold snap, thought this wasn't mentioned in your feedback, over £30 worth of logs in actual fact. The electric heaters provided are very efficient and are there as a back up to our popular wood burner fired central heating system. We take on board your comment regarding cupboard space however, and would like to provide more, but space is limited in a 200 year old cottage and we have to prioritise living space for guests. Car parking is not provided for guests at the cottage, as per the property description, but there are lots of options in and around the village on a first come first served basis. Thanks again for staying and for the feedback as we do endeavor to always strive to improve our services and facilities to provide guests with the best possible experience. Mark Property Owner
