This dog-friendly lodge in North Wales is a fantastic base for a family or group of five to explore the beaches and countryside of the Llŷn Peninsula AONB, with surrounding walks, watersports, and historic sites.

You can unpack and make yourself at home in the open-plan living space with ease thanks to off-road parking for two cars.

After a day of excursions, settle into a leather reclining sofa or a reclining armchair while watching the wall-mounted TV and catching up with loved ones.

Set the table for four people while the designated chef prepares a home-cooked supper in the well-equipped kitchen space, which includes a washing machine for keeping sandy towels clean.

After dinner, tuck the kids into the twin and single beds, before heading out onto your private decking with a glass of wine and admiring the distant mountains.

A double bedroom with built-in storage is also included, as well as a shower room to freshen up before another busy day exploring North Wales.

On the Hafan y Môr Holiday Park, there are 9 outdoor play areas, adventure trails, multi-sports court, amusement arcade, and a heated indoor swimming pool with child-friendly paddling pools, so you'll be spoilt for choice.

Along with on-site nature paths, you'll be close to the coastal route, a convenience shop, and Ogwen Beach, making this a great base for families.

The market town of Pwllheli, with a selection of eateries like Whitehall tavern and Arvonia Fish & Chips, as well as Traeth Marian-y-de Beach and a lovely marina, is within easy reach on this spectacular peninsula.

The historic Criccieth has a hilltop castle and seafood restaurants like Dylan's Criccieth, but if you're looking for watersports, head to Abersoch, which has golden sandy beaches, the Abersoch Golf Club, and the unspoiled Porth Neigwl on the outskirts.

Further afield in North Wales, Porthmadog is a popular destination for joining the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways for breath-taking views through fields and woodland, while Portmeirion is a unique village for the whole family to explore.

Snowdonia National Park offers a variety of outdoor activities and incredible rural views, including the Ceunant Llennyrch National Nature Reserve, Zip World Llechwedd, and walks to the summit of Snowdon Peak.
