“The cottage is fine, needs some modernisation.”

Lacks some basics such as hairdryer, enough cutlery  (some was rusted) Temu silicone toilet bush just absolutely gross. Bits of ornaments dotted about all damaged making the place feel abit cheap. Some grubby walls and mould to windows. Just not a luxury cottage in anyway.   Very hot but would complain if it was cold! Drainage poor, sinks stayed filled for about an hour. No outside light so pitch black going to car.  Positives: very cosy little place with a nice little view. Comfy beds ...

Drainage poor, sinks stayed filled for about an hour. No outside light so pitch black going to car.  Positives: very cosy little place with a nice little view. Comfy beds and shower OK.  The fishery is clean and well-kept but overpriced and very few fish seen. Of course the time of year impacts the catch but the list on the website didn't feel consistent with what was actually in the water. We paid £35 for my son and I to spend 20 mins on the lake.  I wouldn't personally rush back but it was nice for a change to where we usually go.  It just needs some TLC.

About the location

LLANDEGLA

Ruthin 7 miles; Llangollen 9 miles; Mold 10 miles.

The Denbighshire village of Llandegla lies on the banks of the River Alyn and is located in the heart of North Wales. It was established as a result of drovers moving their cattle from Wales to market in England, and later as a quarry workers' village. Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is bordered by the Clwydian range to the north and Llandegla Forest to the south. The famous Offa’s Dyke footpath bisects the village and the renowned Llandegla mountain bike centre is popular with cyclists of all abilities. The village offers a choice of pubs, as well as a village shop and Post Office. Several shops and cafes and numerous local activities including fishing, clay plate shooting and horse riding are nearby. The larger towns of Llangollen and Ruthin are a short drive away, and are well worth a visit for their extensive shops, restaurants and many historic/cultural sites. A delightful location in the heart of beautiful, unspoilt countryside.
