Hen Dy Goits - nr MalltraethMalltraeth, Anglesey
This beautiful property is a former coach house that has been lovingly renovated to provide a superb family holiday home. Situated in the south west of Anglesey, it is perfect for wandering along the beautiful beaches at Newborough, Llanddwyn and Aberffraw. A little further on is the pretty seaside village of Rhosneigr which has a selection of good shops, cafes and restaurants and offers a wide variety of water sports.
"A warm and comfy cottage, oak beams, slate and stone and paintings by the owner. Snuggle up in front of the log burner in the winter months, a great year round house."
At the heart of the house is a superb bespoke rustic oak staircase, and the roof is supported by old pitch pine beams that run the whole length of the building. All the downstairs rooms are floored with random slate slabs and have under-floor heating which comes from an environmentally friendly air-source heat pump. The windows are made of Welsh oak, with oak sills and lintels.
You may be lucky enough to share Hen Dy Goits with its resident barn owls during your visit. Western Anglesey is a stronghold for the species, and there is a barn owl nest box in one of the gables, which has a fake chimney. If you do happen to see them, please enjoy their presence without disturbing any nesting or feeding activity.
