    “Absolutely loved the cottage.”

It is in a quiet spot and we felt really enveloped by the peace and tranquility of the national park, whilst still being close to the beach and the mountains.

The property

The quality and detail that has gone into this dear little cottage is superb, both inside and out.

With a subtle mountain theme, perfect for its' setting, much of the individual furniture has been hand crafted from local wood - we adore the coat hooks! "Tyn Llwyn Cornel is a superb renovation of a derelict stone barn, perfect for exploring the superb coastline, magical valleys and the majestic mountains of the Snowdonia National Park." Keen ramblers and climbers will enjoy the close proximity of The Moelwyns, Cnicht (the Welsh Matterhorn!) and Tremadog Rocks.

With central heating and a wood burning stove, it is so warm and welcoming to return to.

In addition to the guides and maps at the cottage, the owner is an Army and Civilian Mountain Leader and happy to offer advice on rambling and walking activities. A short walk from the cottage takes you to the Glaslyn Osprey Centre where you can watch these spectacular birds raise their young.

You can also grab a snack and a coffee while waiting to take a scenic ride on the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog narrow gauge railways. Just a mile away is the popular hostelry, Brondanw Arms (known locally as The Ring) and a village shop.

Enjoy the tranquillity, peace and nature of the cottage location while also being just a short drive from the coast and many of the area's best visitor attractions - including the Welsh Highland Railway which is only 200m away! Take a look at the goings-on at Tyn Llwyn Cornel on the Instagram page.

About the location

BEDDGELERT

Porthmadog 7.7 miles; Caernarfon 12.8 miles.

The picturesque village of Beddgelert lies in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park at the foot of Mount Snowdon. Beddgelert is a bustling village with arts and craft shops, tea rooms, welcoming pubs, including Saracens Head and the Royal Goat, and restaurants, centred around the Afon Glaslyn river. A leisurely stroll along the river will take you to the Aberglaslyn Pass, one of North Wales’s most famous beauty spots. The Welsh Highland Steam Railway passes through the village on its journey from Porthmadog to Caernarfon. Beddgelert is famed for its monument to the Welsh Prince Llewelyn's dog, whom the Prince killed thinking it had attacked and killed his son, only to discover afterwards it had been defending his son from a savage wolf attack. From here, you can easily access Porthmadog, home to a Maritime Museum, the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway, the Black Rock Llamas, and Porthmadog Golf Club, as well as Borth y Gest, where you can hike along the Beach Path, spend a day at the beach, and dine at the popular Black Rock Beach Club with stunning sea views, onwards to the Llyn Peninsula and beyond, this is an ideal location for a Welsh holiday.
