Anglesey Sea Zoo, Brynsiencyn, Anglesey

Anglesey Sea Zoo provides a chance to see mesmerising marine wildlife all from shores right here in the UK.
Situated on the very south coast of the island, Anglesey Sea Zoo sits in truly beautiful surroundings. On approach, you get to drive right along the seafront and see the most spectacular views of the Menai Straits over to Snowdonia, and on a clear day down the Llŷn Peninsula.

Housing over 100 species of marine life, all native to the British Isles, including octopus, jellyfish, seahorses and many more - a visit to this family attraction provides an unforgettable experience. With the option to reuse your tickets up to 6 days after purchase, you get the chance to enjoy the zoo, again and again, offering real value for money! With a playground, bouncy castle, crazy golf and much more, there’s enough to keep the family happy all day long.

With a remarkable array of marine life on display, Anglesey Sea Zoo offers the chance to get up close to creatures you may not have ever seen before. All ages can enjoy learning a little more about the natural habitat of the marine life that calls our British shores home. All of the water for all of the tanks comes directly from the Menai Straits - how resourceful is that? This helps the wildlife to feel right at home.

New exhibits have opened for 2016 including rare seahorses and moon jellyfish. With feeding displays and daily talks, you can hear more about these mysterious undersea creatures from the experts. They are so passionate about all the animals and the conservation work was undertaken to protect them. Our favourite was the diving displays, just make sure to check your talk schedule on arrival which will advise of the specific times for interactive talks and feeds. It truly is a family fun visit for all ages!

Anglesey Sea Zoo has recently been awarded a ‘Green Key Environmental Accreditation’ for all the hard work Frankie, who owns the zoo, and her team do on a daily basis. Anglesey Sea Zoo is actively involved in conservation work and supports the belief that businesses should be environmentally responsible. They were recognised for promoting sustainable tourism, and work tirelessly to ensure that visitors are both engaged and educated. Excitingly the Anglesey Sea Zoo is the first business on Anglesey and first North Wales attraction to be given such an award.

Boasting an impressive gift shop too, children will be spoilt for choice when choosing mementoes of their time at Anglesey Sea Zoo. A unique opportunity whilst visiting the shop is to purchase your very own piece of natural beauty, a pearl (availability dependent of course, as they are naturally occurring). You can even watch as your chosen oyster is opened, your pearl is cleaned, valued and even set in jewellery! Don’t worry for those with a sweet tooth, during the summer months, there is the chance to buy homemade fudge too - it's delicious.

Aside from the amazing aquarium and shop this family attraction also offers a great range of fun things for kids to enjoy; crazy golf, pirate’s playground, cannon blaster, a bouncy castle and a slide. Meaning they can be entertained for hours all in one place - much to the relief of many parents.

Picnic spot

Picnic tables make the most of the spectacular views across the Menai Straits to Snowdonia (and offer somewhere to eat your own packed lunch if one is brought), and when the sun is shining why not make the most of the delicious Anglesey ice cream sold on site too.

Free parking on site.

Access is easy and catered for throughout the site. The only steps inside the attraction are those to access the pier tank from above and to access the top deck in the cafe. All doors are usually left open unless it is very poor weather, and full staff assistance is given to all visitors who may require it.

Self-propelling wheelchairs are available free on loan and can be reserved in advance.

It’s also a dog friendly attraction! They aren't allowed in the aquarium itself, but the zoo provides lockable pens and access to freshwater so you can entertain the kids and rest assured your dog is no longer left out of family day trips. When they are outside with you and your family they must be kept on leads at all times.
