Llanfaethlu, Anglesey, North Wales

Llanfaethlu is a small village in Anglesey built around the church of St Maethlu. On the building of a new school, a Neolithic settlement from over 12,000 years ago was discovered. Nearby to this village is an ancient hill fort and south-east is a tall standing stone three metres in height dated to 4000 years ago.

A fantastic place to eat here is the Black Lion who pride themselves on the provenance of their food. You can also visit the only remaining working windmill in the whole of Wales at Llynnon Mill. There are plenty of local walking trails and cycle routes to enjoy the stunning welsh countryside and coastline nearby.
