Confucius Institute at Bangor University are proud to present the Chinese Orchestra of Shandong University who will perform a dazzling programme of Chinese traditional music at Theatr Bryn Terfel. Consisting of teachers and students from the traditional instrumental music school at Shandong University, the orchestra is committed to the inheritance and the innovation of Chinese traditional music culture. Composer Qu Xiang predominantly works with them and the music is mostly folk-based and introduced on Xiao (a vertical bamboo flute), Dizi (the Chinese Bamboo flute), Erhu (the Chinese violin), Yangqin (Chinese Dulcimer), percussion instrument and Suona (horn).
