Llyn Crafant Lakeside CafeTrefriw, Snowdonia

Lakeside Cafe, Llyn Crafnant, Trefriw, Snowdonia

Lakeside cafe has to have one of the best locations in North Wales sitting literally on the water’s edge at Llyn Crafnant, nestled in the valley above Trefriw. With delicious home cooked and locally sourced food, fabulous cakes and a wonderful outside lakeside garden, this is truly worth a visit.

It is one of the more remote cafe’s which adds to its charm. You can sit out in the garden, or on a lakeside bench, surrounded by the beautiful Carneddau mountains to the west, the Gwydir forest to the east and gazing out over the lake. It is an unbeatable setting.

There are numerous walks around and to the lake, so the cafe will be a very welcome sight after having worked up an appetite,  but it is also lovely just to go there on its own merit. The food is delicious traditional proper fare, the ploughmans has all the trimmings with chutneys, apple, coleslaw and delicious pies from the bakery in Trefriw. The soups are absolutely delicious and simple sausage baguettes are made with award-winning sausages in delicious fresh baps. They have a good range of cakes and portions are well sized.

The owners offer a warm and hospitable welcome to the whole family pitching in. The cafe has the fishing rights to the lake and you can buy a day ticket here or take out a boat.
