Anglesey boasts more than 125 miles of stunning coast and bucketfuls of beautiful, award-winning beaches. Almost the entire coastline has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
As well as being breathtakingly beautiful, it’s a wonderfully varied coastal landscape which takes in towering rugged cliffs, beautiful secret coves, sheltered shallow bays and sweeping, expansive sands. It’s a coastline where you’ll find plenty of treasure, from the rock pools that reveal themselves at low tide to the wild orchids that grow in the marram-grass tufted dunes.
The beaches in Snowdonia are nothing short of spectacular. Mountains meet the sea and the results are some of the most scenic beaches in the UK.
You’ll find traditional family-friendly seaside resorts at places like Barmouth, beautiful stretches of sand such as Harlech, watched over its medieval castle, or the gently shelving sands of Dinas Dinlle to the north with wonderful view of the peaks of Yr Eifl and across to Anglesey.
The Llŷn Peninsula is a place where the majestic mountains of Snowdonia meet the open promise of Cardigan Bay and the Irish Sea. Much of the Llŷn’s coastal landscape has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s also one of Britain’s oldest pilgrimage routes. On both counts it’s not hard to see why.
An exceptional and dramatic shoreline of coves, cliffs, bays, sweeping beaches, offshore islands and stacks, it’s what a painting of an idyllic coastal wilderness might look like. In paradise. Or an Arthurian legend.
