Menai Bridge Holiday Cottages

Menai Bridge - a lively harbour town on the edge of the Menai Strait

Menai Bridge, Anglesey, North Wales

Until 1826 the town of Menai Bridge was known as Porthaethwy - it was renamed to celebrate the opening of Thomas Telford’s magnificent crossing, the world’s first ever iron suspension bridge. Perhaps the best way to see the town - and the bridge - is from the water. RIB ride boat tours will whisk you along the Menai Strait with a commentary on the history and geography of the strait - from its whirlpools and shipwrecks to how drivers would make cattle swim from Anglesey to the mainland via ‘pig island’. We have a huge range of Menai Bridge holiday cottages, ranging from cosy romantic retreats, to large holiday houses perfect for family get togethers.
