    “Absolutely appalling substandard accommodation.”

Checked out two days earlier than I was booked in for because it was so bad.

We understand that on your arrival on Saturday you contacted Sykes with some issues (lack of firewood and hot tub being colder than you’d like - due to changeover clean that had taken place earlier that day and a drip in the conservatory). Unfortunately this wasn’t communicated to us by Sykes until Monday evening (48 hours later). We want to assure you that we do not think this is acceptable - if guests raise an issue, big or small, we take action immediately to address them. Sadly, here the issues weren’t communicated to us, preventing us from doing so. Upon receiving Sykes’ email on Monday evening, we called them immediately and asked that information be relayed to you. This wasn’t done. We arranged for the cleaners to come out the following morning to assist you and at the same time we followed up 3 times with Sykes to see if they had forwarded our message on. They hadn’t. We understand that midway through your stay the WiFi stopped working. We contacted Sky as soon as we were made aware of this and asked that an engineer come out. Unfortunately this was the same day that you made the decision to cut your holiday short. We are very sorry that you felt like you had to do this and we are in the process of discussing this with Sykes as we work very hard to ensure that our guests have a relaxing and enjoyable stay at the cottage.
