“Perfect house for our base to explore Anglesey.”

Warm, spotlessly clean, Nicky decorated, well equipped and a very comfortable bed. A few minutes to the promenade, gorgeous bakery around the corner, plenty of pubs within easy walking distance. Plenty of independent shops to browse and make sure to visit the gaol. Lovely back garden and while there is no view from the sitting room, it makes on-street parking easier.

It is locate close to all amenities and beach . We had a slight problem with heating but this was very quickly solved after conversation with owner who was very friendly and helpful . No hesitation in recommending this property and hopefully won’t be too long before another visit .

“Must be our 6th stay I think now in this lovely cottage, excellent place to stay in Beaumaris, everything on the doorstep, very close to the bakery which is a must.”

The cottage is set perfectly with all you would need for a stay, extremely clean and well fitted out. We will definitely stay again, hopefully next year again. So five out of five stars, if I had to say one down note it would be that this was the first stay that never left us a pint of milk on arrival, there was always a pint and some biscuits before, but that's just a tiny thing.

“Excellent location & lovely cottage with good facilities.”

Only drawback was lack of extractor fan in bathroom meant condensation considerable & window had to be left wide open to assist drying. Showers therefore had to be timed with this in mind.This will be more of a problem in colder months so needs addressing. Well equipped & decorated. 2 mins from sea. Listing could have been more specific in stating towels & bedding definitely included & not ‘normally’ which wasn’t clear whether they were or not. Listing could have also mentioned hairdryer provided. Obviously good that they were but should be more clearer. Good garden/outside seating. Would return & recommend.

“Just back from a week in 14 Rose Hill and we have already said we will be back next year - the house was immaculately clean - probably the cleanest self catering property we have ever stayed in, with endless household items to make our stay easier.”

The beds are supper comfy and it really did have a home from home feel. Although parking is on road we never had a problem getting a space. Location is great!

“I have been coming to Anglesey for over 30 years.”

Numerous times a year, as a child myself & now bringing my own 2 children (ages 6 & 3) & this is the cleanest, most well equipped cottage we have ever stayed in! Having young children we ate in most of the time and it was lovely having good facilities to do this. The garden is lovely I loved having a coffee in the morning sun reading a book and the children loved exploring. Perfect location to explore the island but also wonder around Beaumaris. We have never stayed in the same cottage twice but will be booking to come back next year !

We have stopped at nr 14 Rosehill for a few years now, always a pleasure to come back. A short walk to Beaumaris main street with galleries, shops, pubs and cafes, the bakery in the village is amazing and a short walk to Beaumaris waterfall is always worth doing. Looking forward to coming again soon.

“Wow fantastic, What a beautiful cosy cottage.”

We loved it the location is fantastic right in the heart of Beaumaris Spotless - super clean Like home from home everything we need for our family trip away, which was reassuring taking two young children. Reduced our amounts we needed to pack. The children loved the garden as we did Beautiful garden furniture and a wide range of it for our sunny cuppa of a morning or a wine in the evening. We were sad to leave. Wish we would of booked two weeks in cottage

“Property was the best we have stayed in.”

It had everything needed for a self catering holiday. It was very well equipped, so great for cooking a meal for example and had a lovely outside space which we enjoyed on the sunny days. Only issue we had was around the shower curtain, as water escaped, but this was only a small problem. The property was very convenient for the shops (great bakery) the pier, and the castle, but still in a quiet spot. Overall a lovely place which we plan to come back to in the future.

“The cottage was very well equipped and very clean.”

We should have paid attention to the fact that the bathroom and WC are downstairs. The double bed was too small for us tall people. We think there should be at least a queen-sized bed in that room. Our final arrangement was one of us slept in the double bed and the other in the twin bedded room. All this said, the flat was in a very convenient location and we enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for the feed back. We chose to have a standard double bed as the bedroom isn’t large-enough for a bigger bed. Also I’m sure a queen size bed is classed as a small double, in the UK, so therefore not as wide but the same length. Both my husband and I are both tall and have no problem with the bed. “Absolutely fabulous!”

Perfect cottage in a perfect position. The very private south facing garden was heaven; breakfast with the morning sun at one end of the garden and dinner as the sun goes down at the other end - perfect! I have never been to a cottage that was so well equipped - literally everything that you could require on your hols was provided; from torches in the bedroom to sun loungers and a wind break in the shed, nothing was overlooked. Lovely library of books and DVDs. All mod cons. Cottage was spotless and beautifully designed. Very restful decor - lovely shades of duck-egg blue and everything co-ordinated; a lot of thought and care has been taken to make this a blissful haven and retreat. We felt immediately at home and relaxed. Position was perfect, just a short walk from the seafront and all amenities. Parking was easily found on local side streets, not too far away. Beaumaris is a thriving little seaside village with something for everyone and with a lovely olde worlde aura. Picturesque and traditional with the enchanting charm of yesteryear for the discerning traveller. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in your sublime little home. We would love to visit again and would highly recommend this cottage for all.

And the extra little touches such as a pint of milk in the fridge and loaf of Bara Brith, were really appreciated. The perfect location, with a bakery around the corner and a variety of places to eat within easy walking distance. It also was a great base camp for exploring the rest of the island. We saw puffins at South Stack and red squirrels at Plas Newydd. It was our first visit to Anglesey but we'll be back and would love to stay in this cottage again.

It felt a home away from home as everything was there, right down to a pint of milk which was heavenly as we arrived after most shops had shut so we could still have a cuppa! Cottage was clean and inviting and all appliances worked. Nice touch about the housekeeping book and leaflets on local attractions. Great location, took less than 5mins to get to harbour and fabulous bakery round the corner. Parking was easy, if not outside the cottage just round the corner on one of the other streets.

“Our first time using Sykes, we are impressed and will not hesitate to use Sykes again.”

The property exceeded our expectations because the photos and explanation couldn’t do it justice - it has to be seen! The location is perfect for walking to shops, restaurants etc in Beaumaris itself, but also perfect to use as a base when exploring Anglesey. The cottage lacked nothing in the way of equipment and facilities, right down to choice of summer or winter duvet, should we have needed to change, and deck chairs in the garden shed! The bed was so comfortable we even took a photo of the mattress label, hoping to buy the same when we next need a new mattress at home. One tiny little suggestion, if we may - please fit a shower screen. This would surely help to preserve the wood shelf and flooring at the back of the bath, by the toilet, where there is a tendency for water to escape from behind the shower curtain, however careful one tries to be when showering. On one or two days we noticed some water had got past the shower curtain and dripped onto the shelf and floor - and we are used to shower curtains! All in all, we spent a fabulous week exploring Anglesey and hope to return.

Great place to stay. Would recommend. Rib Ride at Menai highly recommended. Crabbing on the pier at Beaumaris is a great way to spend the day (tip - use smoked frankfurters in your net!) The George and Dragon in Beaumaris is a great place to eat and drink - Fish and Chips are amazing. The little Central Bakery is a great little bakery. Get there early to avoid disappointment as there is always a queue - very tasty pies, cakes and breads. They also do a great Sausage and Bacon Barm for Breakfast.

The property

14 Rose Hill is a lovely terraced holiday cottage set in a quiet, calm side street of Beaumaris on the island of Anglesey.

It's been decorated throughout to a very high standard and has plenty of extra touches that are sure to make you smile.

Despite having an open plan sitting and dining room, the sitting area surrounds a fuel-effect electric stove making it feel cosy in the winter months.

In the sunnier months you can always sit outside and enjoy your morning cuppa in the sunshine of the south-facing garden. All the delights of Beaumaris are right on your doorstep with no need to get in the car!

Beaumaris Castle is just a short stroll away, as are many fabulous places to eat and drink; The Bull being a highlight!

Tredici is a fabulous little deli and butchers with a great wine selection to boot!

There you can pick up some interesting supplies, but there is always the convenience store on the high street, too. What's more, you can walk along the Menai Strait or the pier which stretches out into it and soak up the views across the water.

Beaumaris has plenty of interesting and local shops which are certainly worth a browse.

If you're happy to take a trip in the car, Anglesey has so much to offer: sandy beaches, leisurely walks and brilliant attractions can all be found a short drive away.

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
