“The cottage is in a good location and it’s nice and quiet on the farm.”
We loved the furniture and decor. The owner left us a delicious homemade cake for when we arrived which was a lovely touch.
A few of our concerns for the owner to note:
- No curtains at the front entrance, back door and landing window, which meant privacy was a slight issue as the other cottage guests kept looking in at us when they walked their dogs.
- There is no electric shaver/toothbrush socket in the bathrooms so we had to go buy a toothbrush from the shop. This may be worth noting on the listing so people know in advance.
- Some of the pans and crockery are very well used and scratched and could do with being replaced.
- We were limited to what we could watch on an evening, no Netflix or on demand services. A smart TV would have made our stay a bit nicer!
- I realise we are at the end of the season, but the cottage could now do with a deep clean, the skirting boards were quite dirty in places and there were established cobwebs behind the bin in the bathroom and bedroom, also behind the side tables in the bedroom. My mum also had to wipe the dressing table down before she could use it as it was thick of dust.
- The pear tree constantly bangs against the roof of the downstairs bedroom when it’s windy which was annoying. Could do with trimming back.
