“Had a lovely week stay at Riverside cottage it's our 2nd visit here,thanks for the welcome gift , nice to see an entrance as been added to enter the back garden now and the addition of a log burner , very clean and set in a beautiful location .”

.the only downside which we didn't encounter on our first stay back in 2019, is that the accommodation next door as a room over the living room , you could hear the occupants walking around and water running, thankfully they was gone on the Sunday, so we had a peaceful week...As you own the 2 properties wouldn't it be more suitable that the space upstairs should be turned into a larger bedroom for Riverside cottage , also when turning on the bathroom light it would set of the fire alarms , overall we enjoyed our stay...

“What a lovely nice small cottage.”

Nice and clean lovely and warm when you have the log burner going. Myself and Cooper my dog had 4 nights there. Lovely beaches . The only thing was well two things. A better shower would be great and the sofa was very low and very uncomfortable. The bed was very comfortable. Apart from that Anglesey is a lovely place .

Spacious, bright lounge opening on to a patio garden which was plenty big enough for our two cocker spaniels, after a day of exploring Anglesey. Would definitely recommend to family and friends. Little tip, the description of the bedroom is very accurate so after banging my head we had the pillows at the bottom of the bed, worked a treat

Everything was provided including lovely extras such as prosecco and chocolates. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends but not if they had any mobility problems as the stairs to the bedroom are quite steep. The closeness to the friendly village pub is a bonus.

Myself , my husband & 2 dogs stayed for Xmas 2023. This beautifully cosy cottage is an amazing place to stay. We made a lovely xmas dinner in the small kitchen that had absolutely everything we needed. The lounge diner had plenty of space for us & our 2 dogs to cosy up in front of the woodburner, and use the wood dining set for meals. The room is light & airy due to large french bay doors looking out to side of cottage.There is also a bar table & stools in the kitchen for breakfast. The large smeg fridge was a lovely surprise & handy for plenty of supplies. The bathroom is plenty big enough with a large shower cubicle & storage cabinet. The outside space was bigger than expected with a garden leading off the lounge, which came in very handy for our dogs & I can imagine would be a pleasant outdoor space in summer. There is also a small courtyard type space fenced off at the front door , which is handy with dogs when entering,and the convenience of your own private parking space . The bedroom has limited headroom which makes it difficult for standing in places (as stated on website) but its beautifully furnished, including a dressing table, and a large comfy bed. It was a nice touch to have the prossecco ,chocolates and firewood as a welcome pack. Even had dog bowls & towels available

“Cute little cottage.”

Bedroom ceiling is really low, you may struggle if tall. Everything you need, tv, fridge, washing machine, iron, hairdryer. Lots of good information in the guest book. We had read before arrival that you can hear the people in the adjoining cottage walking about, you can but it didnt bother us. Pub and shop 1 minute walk away.

“Spent a weekend here.”

The cottage has lots of positives but I was put off returning as I found the stairs difficult for carrying a suitcase up and the extremely low ceiling in the bedroom made it hard to stand unless in the middle of the room. It was really low over the bed too, causing me to worry I’d bang my head when I sat up.

“Great property and great location!”

Lovely cottage, we would recommend to family and friends. Only one small improvement to the garden. The fence between the two cottages would be better with the gaps filled in so the dogs can’t see each other. So maybe a bamboo fence over the wood or something.

“Me and my partner had a wonderful time!”

Showed the house to our families and now they’re thinking of booking! Great location if you don’t mind driving around 30 minutes to see Anglesey and its attractions. We loved the red squirrels at Dingle Nature Reserve. Only thing we’d recommend to the landlord is to get a new TV remote as the one there sticks and is slow (even with new batteries).

Well equipped with everything you need. Great location for visiting around the island. Village is welcoming pub is great. Only thing we would have liked because we have a dog is a hoover or a long handled broom just to give a better clean round before we left. Would recommend the cottage and hopefully be back loved Anglesey.

“We had a super 4 night stay at Riverside cottage.”

The welcome note and prosecco were a lovely touch. The cottage has recently been refurbished and eveything was fresh and clean. The downstairs was great. kitchen well-stocked with utensils and equipment. Spacious and light lounge/diner with access onto the patio. We had 2 labradors with us and really appreciated the enclosed patio and garden with outside tap for washing down when sandy from runs on the beach. There is a small area of lawn at the end of the patio which was handy. The double bed was very comfortable. The vaulted ceiling is low upstairs and you need to take care when moving around. It didn't bother us and is clearly described in the listing. We didn't explore the village itself although there is a cafe, pub and village shop within a 1 min walk of the cottage. The dogs loved the nearby beach at Caemes Bay, there are some dog restrictions May to September but dog friendly areas are clearly marked and spacious. We did some great coastal walks around Caemes Bay, Rhoscolyn and Pentraeth. We were lucky with the weather and had a great time. The offroad parking space at the cottage is spacious and right next to the cottage. We would definitely rebook. It was a great base to explore Anglesey and good value for money.

“What an amazing little cottage, the only draw back the local pub said they served food but they don't anymore.”

The cafe is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.There's a shop around the corner that sells everything. The countryside is amazing went on some fab walks. Lovely beach at Trearddur Bay amazing walk around all dog friendly an some bars as well when the weather ain't so god. Great trip highly recommended. Karen Mick Bobby (dog)

We received a call from you at my office in Trearddur Bay on your arrival day 9Thursday) and you explained you were disappointed with the location and that you preferred Trearddur Bay/Rhosneigr and could we please move you. This was not possible as it was bank holiday weekend and no other properties were available. You then stated you were not happy with a few things at the property, the paintwork on the handrail on the stairs was chipped, the towel warmer radiator was loose, the step into the living room threshold was damaged and loose, a towel had a bleach stain on it, the rug in living room had a stain on it and there were dog hairs on the sofa. We immediately contacted our housekeepers who live locally and they returned to conduct a thorough clean and fixed the step. There should not be dog hairs on the sofa, the rug was replaced, the towel warmer had been damaged by a previous guest and was replaced the following week as we had to order a new one, we can't paint the handrail until we have a gap in bookings as it wouldn't ne dry in time for next guests- so a full re decoration has been booked for November. I then called in to see you to apologise for your initial experience and tried to make amends for your disappointment. It is very disappointing to find you were so unhappy at Riverside Cottage, as previous reviews clearly state how happy our guests are and return regularly. Property Owner

The property and the garden area was far too small for 2 adults & 2 spaniels.The adjoining cottage which is also above you is poorly insulated and therefore extremely noisy (you can hear everything). The fencing in the garden allowed our dogs to see next doors dogs, which is all well and good however one of our dogs is reactive so this made for traumatic toileting etc... Although the low Beams are stated in the listing you are not prepared for how low the entire bedroom is..I'm 5ft 6 and couldn't stand up anywhere upstairs... Unfortunately the cottage wasn't as clean as expected eg.we had to clean the oven,grill pan & most of the crockery before use. There is also a significant smell of damp throughout the cottage. Although not suited to us, for the right person I'm sure would have an enjoyable stay there were lots of nice touches such as dressing gowns & prosecco.

Headroom over bed beware! Ouch Downside, noisy room to adjoining property above our lounge, we tried to keep tv noise low as they went to bed at 9pm Mobile home park at rear, so cars pass by lounge French doors frequently, our dog rushed barking at them, hence had to keep doors closed! Also gate to rear patio off , so not as safe as we thought when booking, we moved patio sofa to cover gate

“Lovely cosy cottage in a pleasant village, and not too far from major tourist spots by car.”

The cottage was very clean and beautifully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable. The host was very responsive and quick to reply to any queries. As two people and a dog it was exactly what we needed. We will hopefully stay again in the future. Yes the bedroom ceiling is low, so if you are tall you might struggle. We are. 5ft 4 and 5 ft 10 and we managed okay.

We'll catered for. Gift on arrival, robes (great idea).. even the dog was thought of, bowl/towel/toys. Only negative was the height of the bedroom ceiling which is a shame, also more remote than expected, but plus side there's a pub, cafe and shop nearby.

Perfect for 2 people. Unfortunately my husband banged his head at least 5 times on the beams in the bedroom (some people just never learn). Thank you for the fizz which we enjoyed on New Years Eve. The bed and bedding was super soft and comfy. We would definitely stay again. One point we did forget to say, we noticed that there was a leak in the lounge over the shelves where the books are. It looks like it has been leaking for some time, I did wipe it down and leave a cloth there.

Steep stairs to the bedroom, which has a low ceiling . Also the bedroom of the attached cottage is above your living room, which could be a problem if there was a noisy family staying there. On the positive side, we found the cottage to be very comfortable with all the provisions needed for a short break. The garden to the rear is enclosed so perfect if like us you take a dog. We will definitely be booking again. Also great communication with the owner. 10/10 for us

“Oven and grill had not been cleaned for some time.”

Took a lot of elbow grease to make it fit for use. Sofa had a strong dog smell. On investigation it was clear that the cushions had not been removed there being considerable food waste, in the way of crumbs mostly, and dog hairs which we hoovered and treated with air freshener spray. Bath mat to step onto when leaving the shower would be useful to prevent slippage. Disappointed that there was no recycling provision. On the plus side most of the equipment and appliances were excellent. Facilities in the village, Pub, Cafe and Village shop, were first class.

My one point to note is that one of the bedrooms for the adjacent Riverside House (another cottage with the same owner) is directly above the living room of Riverside Cottage. Footsteps and the sound of dogs playing/barking in this room were very loud due to no soundproofing in the floorboards/ceiling. Thankfully this was only an issue at the point the neighbouring guests went to bed in an evening and didn't interrupt the enjoyment of our stay too much.

The christmas tree/twig was very sad though and the sofa was very low and uncomfortable for us. Very peaceful location the cottage is beautifully decorated, very clean and cosy. The caravan park was closed so there was no traffic at all, not sure how that would be when the park is open however.

.. Lovely touch with the radio when we entered...very clean, lovely lounge area. Loved the quaint bedroom, I am small enough not too hit my head, which is pointed out and we are warned about in the description, so no problem there. Very welcoming shop and pub, with a small, home-made food menu, well behaved muts are made very welcome...two minutes walk away..... If any criticism was due, perhaps a little attention to the private garden....the overgrown bush around the table made it difficult to sit out.... A delightful, relaxing 3 nights was had by all....

“There should be much more emphasis on the height of the bedroom ceiling (or lack of it).”

As another reviewer noted, if confined spaces are an issue this property should be avoided. At 6' 2" I was unable to stand up in the bedroom and my wife at 5' 2'' had to bend to avoid the beams and sloping roof. A pity about the bedroom, as the rest of the property was excellent. It was spotless, new equipment in the kitchen and comfortable lounge area. The area was very quiet and a short drive to Cemaes Bay (free all day parking at the top car park). Turning right or left from the beach are some lovely walks (one eventually ends up at a National Trust Nature Reserve just behind the power station).

Llanfechell is a small village situated one and a half miles from Cemaes Bay, on the northern tip of Anglesey in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village gets its name from the nearby 12th century Mechell Church, which has been extended over the years and where it is believed that St Mechell is buried. The ancient Parys mountain copper mines are seven miles away, with their lunar-like landscape and the area is popular with geologists and archaeologists due to the rock formations at Mechell Mountain and the several ancient monuments scattered around, reputed to be some of the oldest in the world. Llanfechell is home to a village pub, which serves traditional ale with a warm welcome. Nearby, the pretty seaside village of Cemaes Bay is home to three pubs, a few shops, a natural sheltered harbour and a sandy beach, edged by grassy cliffs and ideal for safe bathing and family fun. The whole of the Isle of Anglesey is renowned for its miles of stunning and varied coastline, offering wonderful walking and cycling opportunities, along with birdwatching, excellent watersports, fishing and many quality golf courses. Anglesey Sea Zoo and a variety of National Trust properties and gardens are all within reach on this beautiful island, while a day trip to Dublin can be enjoyed from nearby Holyhead.
