“A lovely little cottage in an outstanding location.”

We loved being just a few strides from the pebble beach, and the peace and quiet made for a wonderfully relaxing stay. There are just a few small maintenance items and finishing touches that, in our opinion, would make the cottage even better for future guests. We loved being just a few strides from the pebble beach, and the peace and quiet made for a wonderfully relaxing stay. There are just a few small maintenance items and finishing touches that, in our opinion, would make the cottage even better for future guests. Two of the four outdoor chairs had broken seats, and the parasol couldn't be secured because the hand bolts on the stand had rusted. A few of the lights weren't working (we assume they simply need new bulbs), including the en-suite mirror light and some of the main bedroom ceiling lights. The ceiling light outside the main bedroom was also missing, apart from the base. The lower kitchen cupboards had quite a musty smell, which had transferred to some of the crockery, so we washed everything before using it and kept it on the worktop afterwards. One or two of the baking trays could also do with replacing, as the non-stick coating has worn away. The Wi-Fi was excellent in the lounge and kitchen but didn't quite reach the bedrooms, so a small Wi-Fi extender would be a relatively inexpensive improvement. The lower bolt on the lounge French doors was quite stiff and would probably just benefit from a little lubricant. The en-suite also felt a little musty on arrival; airing it helped, although perhaps the extractor fan could run for a little longer after use. We also noticed a few spots of mildew on the bottom of the lounge curtains, and there were signs that some of the walls had previously been affected by damp. A couple of extra black bin bags would also be appreciated, as it's a small addition that makes a difference during a week's stay. We couldn't find any information about bin collection or recycling arrangements, and the recycling boxes were already quite full when we arrived, so a brief guide for guests would be helpful. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and thoroughly enjoyed the cottage. These comments are offered purely as constructive feedback, as we think a few minor maintenance jobs and thoughtful touches would make an already lovely place even more enjoyable for future guests.
