“This is a beautiful house and the views are spectacular.”

There is plenty of room - we were a group of 7 adults with 3 dogs. The kitchen is very well equipped and washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc were already in a cupboard (we had brought our own as you don’t always get them). We had the main bedroom with a panoramic view of the countryside. This room doesn’t have curtains/blinds so you can enjoy this view but eye masks were provided (we didn’t use them). Everyone said their bedrooms were comfortable. One bedroom has an en-suite that has a bath and shower cubicle. The main bedroom and a second bedroom have wet rooms which we’re not too keen on. Water gets everywhere in them. However, they were as described. The main lounge had a large comfortable sofa with the magnificent view. The log fire was great and a big basket of logs were provided (plus another basket in the second lounge area). At time of going you could purchase more logs for £5 but not needed as a good amount was given. There was access on the tv to Sky, Netflix etc using the owners login or using your own. There is a large lawned area and also a small wooded area to take your dogs. The lawned area is not fully enclosed so keep an eye on them as there are sheep in surrounding fields. The patio could be a lot better as it does need some attention. The wooden decking is rotting in small areas and we felt it needed a proper enclosed railing around as it has a drop to the field in front. Not very safe if you have young children. But we did sit out and it was stunning. I’m sure it is something that will be sorted as this is fairly new to the rental property. There is an EV charger which we made use of. £30 per car which we thought was great value and we only stayed 4 nights. The drive up to the house was probably the biggest downside as it really is a bumpy track that has had a culvert built down the centre for part of it which is quite deep for a small section. Coming down can be a bit slidy if you don’t drive very slowly. This was written in the description so we were ready for it. The owners rang before we arrived to explain some things regarding the house and one then arrived at the house just as we arrived. Very friendly. The location of the house was ideal for what we wanted which was a dog friendly beach (Conwy Morfa), ZipWorld and some of the towns. If you’re a National Trust member, Bodnent Gardens are a 5 minute drive away and they were beautiful. Would we come back to this property, definitely. Great size, clean, beautiful views, great amenities.

About the location

EGLWYSBACH

Conwy 8 miles; Llandudno 9 miles; Betws-y-Coed 12 miles.

The village of Eglwysbach is in the wonderful Conwy Valley, which is renowned for its beautiful countryside, scenic walks and the world famous Bodnant Gardens. Nearby Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is one of Britain's most unspoilt historic towns. A true medieval gem, the town is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls - fortified with 21 towers and three gateways, the walls form an almost unbroken shield around the old town. There's plenty to enjoy in Conwy - the picturesque fishing harbour, National Trust's Aberconwy House, Britain's "smallest house" (worth an interesting, if quick, visit!) as well as the town's shops, pubs and restaurants. Close by are good beaches along the North Wales coast and excellent walking, mountain biking, canoeing, climbing and surfing in Snowdonia and the surrounding hills.
