“We had a lovely weekend overall and the property met our needs, particularly given that it was more affordable than many other options in the area.”

The location was a real highlight – being within walking distance of the beach and a lovely park was fantastic, especially with young children. That said, there were several areas where the property could be improved. The cleanliness was below the standard we would have expected, and there were a number of small maintenance issues throughout the house, such as loose door and window handles. None of these were major problems individually, but together they gave the impression that the property could do with a little more attention and upkeep. For a house accommodating 11 people, we were surprised there was no dishwasher. Washing up by hand after every meal for a large group became quite time-consuming. We also felt the layout description could have been clearer. One of the single bedrooms can only be accessed by walking through another bedroom. Fortunately, this worked well for our group because we had two young children, but it could be awkward for groups with a different mix of guests. Another challenge was the bathroom setup. The upstairs bathroom only had a bath and no shower attachment. This effectively left 11 people sharing a single shower, which became frustrating, particularly after days spent at the beach. Adding a shower upstairs would significantly improve the practicality of the house for larger groups. There were also a few small touches that would make a big difference to guests’ comfort, such as hooks on the backs of doors, a shelf in the bathroom, and additional lighting in the living room. These are relatively minor additions but would greatly improve the experience when the house is occupied by a large group. Overall, we had a good stay and enjoyed our time here. The property offers good value compared with other houses in the area and benefits from an excellent location, but it would benefit from a little more care, maintenance, and attention to detail to help it reach its full potential.
