    “Lovely, well appointed house in the most stunning location.”

    It was great to be able to just walk or ride out from the house and be straight into the hills. I would definitely recommend approaching along the longer road from Dolgellau passing the foothills of Cadair Idris - not only is it the most beautiful approach but most people wouldn't fancy the steep, shorter route from the estuary, which is a challenge even for walking. We didn't use the car at all during our stay but we took lots of provisions with us, loading up in Dolgellau and making the most ...

Tyn Y Graig is a stunning Grade II listed cottage resting above Arthog, Gwynedd set in a National Park with amazing views and a woodburning stove.

Dolgellau 7.2 miles; Barmouth 11.8 miles; Aberdovey 17.4 miles.

This mountain cottage in the foothills of the Cader Idris ridge is about 5 miles from Dolgellau, reached via a quiet and wonderfully scenic rural road - The last couple of miles requires navigating a single track lane through several gates but the spectacular location and beautiful landscape setting of this picture-perfect historic cottage makes this well worthwhile when you get there, as can be judged from the superb customer feedback for this accommodation - Alternatively, the property may be accessed via a steep hill ascending from the village of Arthog which is on the main road from Dolgellau to Tywyn.

Fairbourne is a seaside village in the Snowdonia National Park, which nestles between the beautiful Cambrian Mountains and Barmouth Bay. This coastal village rests beside a huge sandy beach, perfect for family fun and watersports. It is also home to the Fairbourne nature reserve. The well-known town of Barmouth, with its pubs, restaurants and beautiful beach, is only ten minutes away by train, or why not take a leisurely walk over the well-known Victorian Barmouth Railway Bridge with stunning views of Mawddach Estuary. The whole region offers excellent walks, mountain biking and watersports, boasts a variety of wild flowers, and is home to many species of birds that flock to the area's sheltered beaches and rock pools. Discover Dolgellau and delightful Aberdovey, and visit the magnificent sights of medieval Harlech Castle, Portmeirion Italianate Village and the wonderful Snowdonia National Park, all within a short drive.
