“We had a lovely holiday at Murmur Y Don – the views over the beach were stunning and we enjoyed watching the weather and tides change from the ”turret”, as well as the steps down to the beach.”

The house is almost 120 years old, and in some aspects shows its age. If you like your holiday home to be modern, pristine and matching then this may not be the place for you, but we liked all the quirks and character it offered (and did I mention the view?) If you like your holiday home to be modern, pristine and matching then this may not be the place for you, but we liked all the quirks and character it offered (and did I mention the view?) Bathrooms, kitchen, bed linens etc were all clean, but there were some cobwebs and dust higher up in the rooms. Disappointing that the Sykes description was incorrect (no shower in the upstairs bathroom, only a bath). Perhaps the description should also mention the steepish and bumpy drive as this could be an issue for some lower slung cars. Some kind of lock on the downstairs shower room door would save potential embarrassment. The issue with the balcony railing should be dealt with as soon as possible because it seems to not feel as safe if there are any children in the house.
