Prefect location with beautiful scenery. The cottage had everything we needed for relaxing self catering holiday with our dog. Really enjoyed the wood burning fire in the evenings and the attention to detail from the host.

“Really enjoyed this quiet secluded cottage and great for our cocker spaniel, which is important to us; there is a large garden, which is away from roads and there are walks straight out of the door.”

The owner was very friendly and helpful. There is a local pub, The Dinorben Arms, serving excellent food, about 3.5 mls. away at Bodfari. We found it to be a good base to explore North Wales from. We would recommend this cottage 100%.

“A very pleasant holiday break.”

If you want to get away, and still be close to a main road that can take you this way, that way, anyway really for the many places to see, the many places to enjoy that's all around the North Wales coast and beyond, then all in all, this is a nice place to be at. “We have just returned after a very relaxing short stay at Tŷ Tabitha Wynne.”

Ahead of the visit, Fliss was very helpful in her communication which meant that our arrival was smooth. The house is steeped in history and is a real labour of love by Fliss and her family. It is great that the property is true to its authentic self and has kept all the original features such as low beams and lime walls. The log burning stove in the lounge was brilliant at keeping the house warm and cosy and the kitchen was well equipped. It mentions that the wifi can be a bit of a challenge, but I was able to have work video calls from the house with no problem. There are beautiful walks from the house of varying lengths so pack your walking boots (and brace for some big hills). All in all a great place with fab facilities. We will definitely return when in the area. Thank you Fliss for making us feel so welcome.

“Ty Tabitha is one of the nicest places I have stayed in some time.”

A lovingly restored building, it has retained its charm in a way that pulls you back to a simpler, quieter time. My partner and I are history buffs and we adored the style of the cottage, which while having modern appliances, hasn't lost its feel of the 17th century building it is. The log burner in the living room was warm and perfect to use in the evening to curl up on the sofa and whip out a board game. The grounds the cottage is placed in are exceptionally quiet, tucked out of the way, seclusion and peace are available in abundance, with the fields stretching out the back of the cottage giving a pleasant place to sit and watch the world go by. Fliss, the owner, could not have been more accommodating, ready and on hand to help with anything we needed, she really made the place seem like a home from home. I would recommend Ty Tabitha, and its host, to anyone who is looking to unplug from modern life or have relaxing peace and quiet for a while.

“Ty Tabitha was so much more than a beautiful place in which to end and begin each day; it was a companion on our holiday.”

Leaving to return home felt like saying 'goodbye' to a dear friend. The cosiness and sense of history in the cottage are a perfect compliment to the vast and ancient landscape surrounding it. We particularly appreciated the simplicity retained inside - no fussy or modern distractions obscuring the beauty of old beams and traditional materials and methods. Our stay was enormously enhanced by Fliss' generous and welcoming presence, and by the obvious love and care with which the cottage has been created and is maintained. It was a privilege to stay there and we feel very fortunate to have discovered a place where host, hospitality, the character of the building, and the nature-abundant setting all came together... “We had a lovely time at Ty Tabitha Wynne, our son fell in love with the cottage and loved staying in a piece of local history!”

Fliss, the owner and host, couldn’t have been any more welcoming with a little box of goodies for us and the children and made sure that we had everything we needed, logs for the fire, suggestions for things to do and places to go, and so friendly to us and in the kids. The cottage was gorgeous and so much love has gone into restoring it and making it cosy. Fliss let us use the grounds and garden as if it were out own and we went on some nice walks and days out. It is ideally located for many of the places of interest around north Wales. We loved it and didn’t want to leave, we will definitely come back to stay here again!

“Renovated to incredibly high standard and has managed to retain unique and beautiful features.”

Comfortable beds (which is rare in holiday homes) and just beautiful surroundings. We sat out in the garden eating breakfast and tea surrounding by beautiful countryside. Lovely walks everywhere. The coast is about 20-30 mins away but it’s much higher standard of accommodation than you tend to get on the coast and is like your own private retreat at the end of the day. Lots of lovely touches all around the cottage. Fliss the lady who owns the place is lovely and welcoming. You can’t go wrong with this place.

We were given a warn welcome by Fliss the owner, the cottage was spotless and she had provided us with a very generous welcome pack of goodies. The weather was again kind to us so managed to do lots of good walks, visit two National Trust gardens, Erddig & Bodnant, and even managed a spot of climbing in Llangollen. This property is located in a very quiet and peaceful spot, with lovely views across to the Clwydian hills from the garden, a great place to unwind. This is a beautiful cottage and has been rebuilt to the highest standard. We had a lovely time here. My 11 year old son said he wanted to buy it. Everything facility you could require has been thought of. From the wood burner in the front room, the large well equipped kitchen, the beautiful bedroom with oak beams. You feel amazed and at home the second you walk through the door. The owners have even provided the full history of the cottage and its previous owners. There are so many lovely touches and attention to detail. The location is off the beaten track and there are so many places to walk. Several local pubs and places to eat. Fliss surprised us at our arrival with a large box of fine foods, she even had baked a very delicious Welsh cake for us. And she also put milk, bacon and sausages into the fridge. Never before we were anywhere welcomed with so much kindness and generosity. The cottage is so lovely and cosy in a beautiful environment. The house itself is 'breathing' history, as it was once part of Thomas Wynne's estate. Walks throughout the stunning beautiful countryside start right in front of the door. We loved to stay at Ty Tabitha Wynne and were sad to leave it. Special thanks again to Fliss, Mike and their son.

“I love this cottage.”

For just one person it's perfect. The owners are really friendly and go into every detail to make the stay comfortable. The cottage is oozing with character and they have a folder giving the fascinating history of the cottage and the work that went in to convert it from a derelict barn to what it is now. It is in a remote location, and not being familiar with rural Wales I had not expected the roads to be so challenging, and to use it as a commuting base for a conference, leaving early and coming back late I did not utilise the cottage to the full. I think it's much more suited as a leisurely holiday destination in the summer. I think maybe Sykes could have put more in about the surroundings and road connections. Other than that I fully recommend this cottage.

It's stunning, warm and comfortable. Mike and Felicity have converted the barn with skill and love, keeping the bones of an amazing building but making it both very comfortable and luxurious. The weather was sunny and we had a great week exploring North Wales, there's masses to do around here for both youngsters and adults and we had a superb time visiting the slate mines, Chester Zoo, Conwy, Llandudno, Snowdonia etc. We couldn't fit in all that we wanted to do so we'll be back! We also loved the area, it was fantastic for walking, we saw plenty of birds of prey, explored a ruined building and took all sorts of photos. Our hosts were fantastic too. Very accommodating, gave great directions and so friendly! We will definitely be back.

We needed nothing extra when we arrived as bed linen, towels, crockery, utensils and pots and pans were provided. The cottage has been completed to a very high standard, keeping the original features. The local area is beautiful and has plenty of local walks through woodlands and around a lake to keep you occupied. We will definitely be returning soon!

This cottage near Caerwys was the birthplace of Dr Thomas Wynne, the personal physician of William Penn and one of the original settlers of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It offers an ideal central location for touring all of North Wales and Cheshire, and for enjoying the abundance of outdoor activities on offer in the area.

This charming Caerwys cottage offers stylish accommodation, with an abundance of original character features including an exposed cobbled entrance hall, lead light windows, a feature bread oven housed next to a warming woodburning stove in an inglenook fireplace, original stone flag kitchen and exposed oak beams and timber frame throughout.

A cosy sitting room welcomes you in to this Caerwys cottage, and the large fitted kitchen with dining area provides the ideal social area to cook, eat and relax.

Caerwys was granted a Royal Charter in 1290 and is one of the smallest towns in Great Britain. Standing in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between the northern edge of the Clwydian Hill Range and the miles of sandy beaches along the North Wales Coast, this vibrant town boasts two pubs, a couple of shops, Post Office, butcher, pharmacy, bowling green and tennis courts. Nearby are the historic market towns of Mold, Denbigh and Ruthin with excellent shops and craft centres, including the Afonwen Craft Centre on the outskirts of the town. Just a short drive away is Prestatyn, whose Blue Flag beach provides miles of golden sand, ideal for bathing, watersports and fishing.
