“Overall, Bodfan Peniel was a lovely cottage, ideally placed in the centre of the island making journeys to every coast easy and equidistant.”
It is located in a quiet rural spot with lovely views of the surrounding countryside, and a peaceful place to return after a day out exploring. The cottage has been tastefully updated, but could do with some coffee tables for drinks and playing games in the lounge and the rear sitting room, and some lamps for more subtle evening lighting while watching TV.
The owners were very helpful and friendly, however, they didn't like us charging our EV using the extension lead (which had a thermal cut-out and was perfectly safe and an acceptable means of charging a vehicle via a 3-pin trickle charge), and on leaving, was looking to levy a surcharge, despite us advising that to top-up an electric car by 20 miles (our daily use) was probably about ÂŁ2 worth of electric. No different to using the TV, running the washing machine, charging laptops etc. Given we'd paid near ÂŁ1k for our week (which should more than cover our water and utilities during our stay,) this felt like a kick in the teeth. Eventually, more visitors will be arriving at Bodfan Peniel in electric cars, and the owners need to embrace this and be more accommodating. Took the shine off a great week.
