“We found the living rooms and bedrooms very comfortable and clean.”

These were lovely spaces, as was the outside space and hot tub. However, we were disappointed with several things and as a result, will not choose to return to the property. The en suite left a lot to be desired with cleaning - it was clean on the surface but there was build up over time, around the shower and plug hole on the sink. These were lovely spaces, as was the outside space and hot tub. However, we were disappointed with several things and as a result, will not choose to return to the property. The en suite left a lot to be desired with cleaning - it was clean on the surface but there was build up over time, around the shower and plug hole on the sink. The toilet roll holder had been broken and not repaired. The toiletries holder in the shower was rusted. Upon arrival, the kitchen floor had not been cleaned; there were not enough glasses (though more were brought when requested). There were only two pans, a frying pan and a colander to be of any use for cooking. The chopping knives were not sharp. It was a very poorly-appointed kitchen, which made it difficult to cook properly for a family of five. We have stayed in many Sykes properties and this was the least well-equipped. We would not have been able to cater for the maximum occupants had we been in a party of 8. It would seem that there have been inevitable damages (such as broken glasses etc) but no-one has bothered to check whether replacements were needed. For example, there were only five cups (for an eight-person property) and the ‘games’ consisted of one board game. We were disappointed to find the conservatory unfit for use despite that being advertised. There was no indication that it would not be fit for use. We were also disappointed to find that - despite it being listed as an amenity - the dryer had been removed and a piece of material shoved in the condenser tube hole to outside! The dryer on site was out of order. It’s a lovely property overall, which has obviously previously been cared for but now leaves a lot to be desired for a holiday property due to lack of attention to detail in areas.
