    “A truly brilliant place to stay.”

    The location is unbeatable — a 10/10 — with incredible views from the balcony and through the big windows, and Borth-y-Gest is beautiful even in the middle of a wet, cold winter. The house itself is very well appointed, spotless, and genuinely comfortable to live in. The cosy TV/snug/games room was a huge hiit- the Wii was particularly appreciated. Our spaniel also loved it — you can step out of the back and be on the coastal path within a minute or two, which made walks wonderfully easy ...

With the beach just a short stroll away, this delightful abode is perfect for families or friends seeking a traditional Welsh seaside break.

Upon entering the property, you'll be greeted by a spacious kitchen/diner, fully-equipped for all your culinary needs.

Here, you can gather around the dining table and enjoy a home-cooked meal, whilst planning the day's adventures.

If the weather permits, head outdoors to your own private decking, and indulge in a spot of alfresco dining amidst the occasional bird song.

Afterwards, curl up in the snug sitting room, complete with a Smart TV, DVDs, DVD player, and a Nintendo Wii, perfect for entertaining the whole family.

An alcove houses a pull-out double bed, offering additional sleeping arrangements for two additional guests if required.

BORTH-Y-GEST

Porthmadog 1.2 miles; Criccieth 6 miles.

Borth-y-Gest is a quiet Welsh seaside village of mainly Victorian houses retaining much charm and character. Located by the mouth of the River Glaslyn, and a short drive away from the Italian styled village of Portmeirion, this pretty Welsh village has stunning panoramic views over the sands and estuary to the historic Harlech Castle and the Snowdonia National Park beyond. This North Wales village has two bistros and a coffee lounge all located on the front overlooking the bay and all with dog-friendly outdoor seating areas; perfect places to while away the hours watching the comings and goings of the local boatmen. Borth-y-Gest, with its sheltered coves and sandy beaches, has walking in abundance; why not head up Moel-y-Gest or take a wander over the headland to the famous Black Rock Sands, or go a little further afield where the vast Snowdonia National Park awaits? For a day out you can take a trip on the famous Ffestiniog Steam Railway and Welsh Highland Railway from Porthmadog, only a 15 minutes' walk away, or for those with younger children why not visit the shorter but more child-focussed Welsh Highland Heritage Railway? For a day trip the entire Llyn Peninsula calls.
