“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.”
The property is in a lovely location (very peaceful but close by to Porthmadog). Borth Y Gest is a hidden treasure and Porthmadog is easily accessed via a 15 minute coastal walk. It is also close by to places such as Portmerion (absolutely fabulous) and Criccieth which is a busier seaside village and very lovely, too!

I fell in love with the property as soon as I walked in: it is very in keeping with the surroundings and really quaint and quirky. The main bedroom, kitchen and sitting room are located on the first floor which means that you have a lovely view over the bay.
We had everything that we needed in terms of facilities and comfort. The child’s room got very warm at night but it has been an exceedingly warm summer and there were a number of fans that we could use.
The only quibbles are minor and did not negatively impact on our stay at all. The property has no outside seating area as such but, as the property sits directly across from the beach, we would go there every night which was, in fact, better as we got chatting to locals and tourists alike. There is just a little bit of wear and tear in the property which didn’t bother us at all. However, the window chair could probably do with replacing as the coating has started to peel off and was covered up with a blanket, so bits ended up all over the living room carpet. Again, things like this don’t bother us but it needed a good vacuuming as a result. There were 3 ornamental starfish on the wall on the 2nd floor, and one just fell off when I was opening the window. It had been stuck on with blu tac and I couldn’t get it to stick back on again. TBH, I was more worried that the owner would think that we had done it when it just wouldn’t stay on. Again, these are just minor quibbles and did, in no way, detract from how great this property is.
Overall, the property, itself, and the surrounding area are wonderful and I would definitely book this place again.
