    “We enjoyed a wonderful week.”

The comfortable house suited our needs, is in an ideal setting, with a beautiful garden facing the estuary and Snowdonia. We would love to return one day. There are a few maintenance matters which we would like to share with the owner but so as not to damage reputation, do not wish to publish. One dining chair has an unstable leg, so we did not dare to sit on it, also the leaf to the table has lost a screw so is loose and unstable. A vicious screw protrudes from the twin bedded room ...

There are a few maintenance matters which we would like to share with the owner but so as not to damage reputation, do not wish to publish. One dining chair has an unstable leg, so we did not dare to sit on it, also the leaf to the table has lost a screw so is loose and unstable. A vicious screw protrudes from the twin bedded room door handle. The ensuite toilet seat is loose. The house is running low on water tumblers as there was only one, in an otherwise very well equipped kitchen. Last of all the dust pan is well past its sell by date and needs replacing! Hope this list is helpful.

The property

When I imagine the perfect holiday house, this house comes to mind.

Spectacular views, stylish custom decor, fantastic furnishings and a homely feel provide all the ingredients for a super holiday! It is in close proximity to Portmeirion village (which can be seen from the house - we told you the views were good!), which is the site of the No.6 Festival and a very popular place to visit - we'd highly recommend spending a day there.

It's wonderful to wander the grounds and gardens and the architecture is amazing.

The design is said to be based on the Italian Riviera. Big House is located just a five minute walk away from Llandecwyn station on the Cambrian Coast Railway.

Also close by is Harlech, and its impressive castle, along with Porthmadog where you can jump aboard the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways and let the train take the strain whilst you soak up the sights of Snowdonia from the comfort of a carriage.

This holiday house really is in an ideal location to base yourself for a holiday of adventure exploring what Snowdonia has to offer!

If you'd rather experience the spectacular views of the surrounding area on foot, the Dyffryn Ardudwy Way is close by and the Wales Coastal Path is just a ten minute walk away. "A fabulous house with equally fabulous views!

Beautifully decorated, Big House is full of charm and character - this stunning cottage ticks every box!" You are in the right place if you want to sample the local culinary delights.

The nearest eating place is Ship Aground in Talsarnau, but Moorings in Borth y Gest, Castell Deudraeth in Portmeirion and Grapes in Maentwrog are also great places to go for a meal.

Thrill seekers don't have to travel far from Big House - Zip World is just a 20-minute drive away.

Reach speeds of up to 100mph on the Titan zip wire, or if you'd rather something a little less heart-racing - jump around on underground trampolines at Bounce Below. Big House can sleep up to 7 people; 5 in the main house with room for a further two people in a self-contained annexe through the dining room door which has its own open plan sitting room, kitchen/diner downstairs and a cosy en-suite bedroom upstairs.

This makes it ideal for Grandparents or friends to join you on holiday, yet allowing them to have their own space too!

Not enough space?

No problem, nearby Little House will accommodate 2 extra people, so in total, a party of 9 could stay together in this stunning location.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.
