Getting there involves the single-track Nant y Glyn road, which is an experience in itself. I personally enjoyed the grey matter stimulation of finding canny ways to pass oncoming vehicles. It adds to the sense of being in a remote place.
Overall, this is a solid choice if you want that deep countryside feel without actually being far from town.
