“Lovely converted Barn and it has clearly been finished to a very high standard!”
Gorgeous. The surroundings were so peaceful & calming; the quiet was almost deafening! It was blissful. Lovely patio area to relax in. Great to have a fan, blankets for the living room and a very luxurious bathroom to relax in.
The downsides: The mattress was far too soft and uncomfortable. It didn't do mine or my wife's back any good. The small 3 seater sofa (bed) has seen better days; it was lumpy and quite uncomfortable.
Other areas for improvement: Due to the remote location, a few basic provisions/personal touches would be very helpful. We brought shopping with us, but toilet roll for the duration of the stay would have been helpful. Tea, coffee and sugar. There is a dishwasher, but no dishwashing tablets. Several drawers with bits and pieces in them that should be disposed of.
Overall, the surroundings and quality of the finish are top notch. The suggestions above would just elevate the stay, in our opinion, and be more in keeping with the premium feel of The Barn.
Thank you for your feedback - I am sorry you did not find the bed comfortable - we chose a medium mattress to try to suit all needs. Just to remind you that this is a self catering property so we only provide some basics to get you started and to allow you to purchase your own products to cater for your own tastes-.
