“We had a lovely stay but had a few niggles.”

The drive up to the cottage is quite treacherous, we wouldn't recommend attempting it in anything less than an SUV or 4x4! The cottage smelt a bit damp on entry but looked like there had been recent plastering around the lounge windows which may have accounted for that. The kitchen worktops were dirty on arrival and had to be wiped down (products were available under the kitchen sink). There was mouldy food under the fridge and the rest of the floors hadn't been swept thoroughly, we found a couple of straw wrappers and corners of packets under the dining table, we had to do a bit of sweeping and cleaning before we could relax and enjoy our stay! There were crumbs in the kitchen cupboards which hadn't been cleaned between guests. The windows were a bit grubby inside again suggesting there hadn't been a thorough clean. The log burner glass was black and unable to see any fire through it, we cleaned that too. As I say, they were just niggles! Having said all that, the cottage was warm on arrival, the main bedroom was clean and comfortable (we didn't use any other bedrooms). There were plenty of fluffy towels for the hot tub and general use. There was use of a Fire Stick in the TV allowing good access to channels for a cold and windy January night! The Hot Tub was fabulous with amazing views and for watching the sunset. The kitchen was well equipped (we did have to buy a cork screw!) and having the dishwasher was a bonus. There was always hot water and the heating was easily controllable. If solitude is your thing then we would recommend Cefnbron. There were only 2 of us but the cottage didn't feel too big for us, it would however easily accommodate the full 8 occupants although it might be a squeeze in the hot tub! It is a great location for exploring the Llyn Peninsula. Please don't be put off by the niggles, the price reflected the condition of the cottage, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for!

Take advantage of the spacious dining table or venture outside to your very own private decking area complete with table and chairs to delight in an alfresco feast, before saviouring a dip in the bubbling hot tub.

On cooler evenings, escape to the inviting sitting room and cosy up in front of the woodburning stove, ready to click on the Smart TV and indulge a movie marathon with the whole family.

When sleep calls, freshen up with use of the Jack-and-Jill bathroom or opt for a double or family room with their own handy en-suites, before getting some well-deserved rest.

For things to do, embark on a scenic hike to Gyrn Ddu, offering a magnificent vantage point for views across the rolling hills and beyond; for something less challenging, head to one of several lovely beaches that lie along the coast, including Traeth Nefyn, Aberdesach Beach or Dinas Dinlle Beach, where you can breathe in the sea air and even go for a paddle if you’re feeling brave enough!
