“Absolutely amazing holiday.”

Communication & info was exceptional. It was just me & my dog, the cottage was brilliant for us & the beach just across the road. It was immaculate on arrival, stunning surroundings & very relaxing. We went on adventures each day (Craflwyn Nature Reserve, Dinas Emrys, Welsh Highland railway on the steam engine, Caernarfon, Glynllion Country Parc... ) & days & sunset at Dinas Dinlle Beach. It was a really sweet cottage, with lots of space & all you needed was there. I didn't need to contact the ...

“Lovely accommodation, spotlessly clean, well equipped, all you need for a peaceful stay.”

Walk out of the cottage and down the farm drive, cross the road to a beautiful beach. Turn right for a ten minute walk to the airport with a great cafe and museum, turn left for a twenty minute walk to the beach shop, pizza takeaway, cafe/gelato bar (great coffee), nice Italian restaurant and a chippy. Tried them all, recommended! Pine Cottage has one of the comfiest beds going and a lovely shower room. So quiet and peaceful, but lots to do in the area. Definitely recommend. And our dog loved it too.

“We enjoyed our short break at pine cottage the bed was one of the most comfortable ones we’ve found in rental accommodation so we certainly appreciated that and the sofa was comfortable too.”

The whole thing was cleverly put together in a small space and it generally worked with only the shower room proving a little awkward due to the sloping roof and the small kitchen took some adjusting too ,with the hot tap being a push and hold was a bit tiresome but v hot..The outside space being astroturf wasn’t too our liking or our dogs and felt a bit overlooked but due too its proximity to the beach one could overlook this.If we decide to take another short break in the Caernarfon area we would certainly consider pine cottage.

Since receiving your review we have checked the description and photographs on the Sykes website as we always take the time to ensure an accurate listing. The listing does show that the garden at the front of the cottage is overlooked, and that the pictures of the bathroom and Kitchen show they are compact but relative to the size of the cottage with a double occupancy. The artificial grass is specific for dogs to allow easy cleaning and drainage with little maintenance. “We have just come back from a week’s stay here, one word for this holiday cottage says it all and that’s… “ Faultless” This has to be one of the nicest, comfortable places we have ever stayed.”

. spotlessly clean from top to bottom, well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay right down to beach towels if needed. So much thought by the owners has gone into making sure your stay is perfect from start to finish. On the evening of our arrival Sandra the owner contacted us to make sure everything was ok and to say if we had any problems during our visit to let them know. The welcome pack for us and our dog was a lovely gesture and much appreciated. Fantastic location for exploring, beautiful views and the beach literally across the road. “A lovely cottage to stay in for a week exploring the beauty that is North Wales.”

The location was ideal for access to Snowdonia itself, in particular not being far from Llanberis and a million different walks (I did 81 miles walking across my 5 day trip!!) but also close to Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula. You will not run out of places to explore. The hosts have thought out everything you would need for a comfortable stay even down to providing dressing gowns, a coffee and ice machine, Alexa points ect. Plus a welcome pack which was very appreciated! Pine Cottage has been decorated with good taste and a lot of care and I looked forward to coming home after an adventure each day. My only complaint would be that I found the bed so hard to sleep on but I'm aware this is personal preference - I have a firm mattress at home but the mattress here felt very firm and I struggled with it (although I'm sure some people wouldn't have a problem). This plus wind noise due to being in right by the sea gave me a mission falling and staying asleep each night but nonetheless I loved my stay here and I can't fault anything else. I can see that a lot of care has been put into making this holiday home and miss North Wales since I've come home. Thank you for a lovely stay

( dog biscuits in welcome pack a nice touch).The cottage is in an excellent location ,near the beach ,peaceful and relaxing but also within easy access of the main roads.The owners live next door which is reassuring should any problems arise .( I set the smoke alarm off & Steve was straight on phone checking I was ok ) .I would definitely return & highly recommend this property ,especially suitable for a solo lady traveller like myself .

“This place is a hidden gem.”

All expectations met and more, what a delightful cottage, small & perfectly formed. A stone’s throw from the beach (and you don’t have to be an Olympian to throw that far) and lovely views thrown in. Everything you need is there, boring stuff like tea, coffe, milk, dishwasher, washing machine etc along with stuff you don’t think you need but really do - dog towel, coffee & ice machine (who knew how fun those are!), prosecco… it’s the little & thoughtful things that make the stay & make you want to come back, which we definitely will be doing.

“This was our 2nd stay in 11 months only this time we stayed for 2 weeks.”

For years we have loved the doggie heaven that is Dinas Dinlle. To be able to stay so close to the beach is fantastic. To be able to stay in such a beautifully decorated and carefully planned, comfortable cottage is perefection! The cottage is like a tardis with every comfort laid on (except time travel, sadly). Part of us doesn't want to rave about this little gem, in case we have trouble booking it again as its become too popular, but that is unfair to its owners, Steve and Sandra, who really cared that everything was right for us. Both visits yielded sunny weather - we even went swimming with our young Lab, but we visit this area all year round and know for sure we will be warm and cosy in Pine Cottage in the colder months too. By day we enjoy watching the flights from Caernarfon Airport a few hundred yards away - a few light aircraft, microlights and both the Coastguard and Air Ambulance. The emergency services do fly out at night as does the occasional Chinook which adds to the experience. We feel that Pine Cottage is our 'home from home' and it won't be long before we will be back again. Thank you, Steve and Sandra, for everything.

“Best nights sleep.”

So peaceful, cosy and comfortable. Fab quiet location, (apart from the helicopters which add interest!) Nicely placed to visit anglesey, snowdonia, llyn peninsula etc easily each day. House itself is perfectly kitted out, precisely what you need, great shower, super comfy bed, dog friendly small secure outside space and owners on hand if needed, great comms. All in 5* recommended.

“Great location close to the beach.”

A good location for touring being in easy reach of the Lleyn, Snowdonia/Eryri and other attractions. The cottage was very clean, warm and well equipped. The only negative for me was limited headroom in the bathroom, especially the shower. I'm 6ft tall and the sloping ceiling was close. But a good location and an ideal stay for one person or a couple looking for a cosy get away. The dog loved it too and that part of the beach is dog friendly all year round.

Excellent location for anyone with a dog who loves to walk along the beach. Also, a good base for visiting other places in the area. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, with a small enclosed outdoor area . The owners are also very helpful and easy to contact if there are any issues. Hopefully we will be back .

“We had a lovely time on our holiday!”

The cottage had everything we needed & more. Loved all the little modern touches and the shower was brilliant. I would suggest perhaps having a mop or something for the kitchen floor. The area is so beautiful, we enjoyed the coastal path everyday, although probably not a very easy walk for anyone with lower mobility, it's quite a stoney path in places! But the view of the sea more than makes up for it! We also enjoyed watching the planes take off & land at Caernarfon Airport. Thank you for the welcome prosecco & Welsh cakes

The little garden for ourselves and the dog was perfect and lovely to have our breakfast in. The cottage was immaculate and the furnishings and fittings were of a high standard, the attention to detail was very much appreciated, dog towels, ice machine, hot tap, Welsh tea bags and Welsh cakes even the shampoo and conditioner was all provided for our stay. “Went on my first solo holiday at 19 with my dog and couldn’t have loved it more.”

Very clean, homely and a cosy cottage to stay in. A stone’s throw away from the beach where we went for our morning walk before exploring some of my favourite places in wales. Had a lovely phone call to welcome me in and very attentive when I needed the heating adjusting. There was a little shop down the road where you could get your bits and bobs you need. Pine Cottage is a charming holiday cottage located in the coastal village of Dinas Dinlle, just a short walk from the sea.

An ideal choice for a couple or solo traveller, this property provides everything you could want for your getaway to the Welsh coast with lovely views.

Beyond the door, you will find a sophisticated open-plan kitchen, dining and living area including a neat breakfast bar to enjoy your morning meal with a fully-fitted kitchen to whip up home cooked meals and a relaxing sitting area to reminisce on your day's adventures and discuss your evening activities.

In the summer months, enjoy a pleasant glass of wine out on the front lawn area with seating and views of the nearby Caernarfon Airport.

Once the sun sets, the snug double bedroom will guide you to your rest before you utilise the shower room with ample space to get ready in the mornings for the day ahead.

The nearby town of Bangor also provides several opportunities with Garth Pier dating back to the 19th century, views of the Menai Suspension Bridge and plenty of restaurants, such as the Teras restaurant should you get peckish on your travels.

About the location

DINAS DINLLE

Caernarfon 5 miles.

The lovely quiet village of Penygroes is situated around six miles from the historic castle town of Caernarfon, bordering the Snowdonia National Park with beautiful scenic walks and mountain views easily accessible. A good selection of shops, cafes and pubs are available in the village and the wider local area is full of restaurants and activities such as golfing, swimming, tennis, surfing and horse riding to name but a few. Plas Dinas Country House is also nearby, which is home to some great history as well as The Gun Room restaurant. The beaches on Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula can be reached in about half an hour, while the beach at Dinas Dinlle is just a 10-minute drive away. Nearby, Caernarfon is home to Caernarfon Castle, which is well worth a visit, with further shops and cafes available, as well as steam train trips. Portmeirion is also a short distance away, featured in the TV series ‘The Prisoner’. Just 8 miles away is the Welsh Heritage centre which has a licensed cafe at Nant Nwrtheyrn with magnificent sea views from it's decked dining area. Beddgelert is a very attractive village, surrounded by the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, with a fabulous arts and craft shop, and several pubs. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
