“A comfortable, beautifully furnished apartment with everything needed.”

Gail, the manager, incredibly helpful. A coffee shop next door, and a pub further down, rounded it off. Everyone was so welcoming, a lovely village. Thank you.

The property

Located in the ancient village of Dyserth, known for it's mention in the Domesday book of 1086, is this first-floor apartment, The Breathe Residence Abode.

Nestled within a historic chapel that is owned by the lead singer of The Alarm.

The Breathe Residence is an ideal base for those who wish to discover this part of North Wales, with easy access to the coastline, the mountains, castles and all The Peters’ favourite spots.

After ascending the stairs, through the delightful converted chapel, to the first-floor apartment, you are welcomed into the property by an open-plan living space, where guests can relax on the sofa and enjoy some television on the flat screen 4K Ultra HD Smart TV if they can take their eyes off the views from the floor to ceiling windows.

Alternatively guests can use the contemporary kitchen to cook up a storm to enjoy round the Italian breakfast bar as you toast to a wonderful holiday; you can also find hints from The Peters' Family about The Alarm's rock and roll history and their favourite places to visit in the area.

The stylish property has two super-king-size bedrooms which can be set up as twins to offer guests a flexible sleeping arrangement, one of the bedrooms is lucky enough to have an en-suite shower room for that extra bit of privacy, and there is also a further bathroom where guests can choose to relax in the bath or wash those sandy feet in the shower.

The bedrooms, open-plan living rooms and kitchens still benefit from the original chapel windows, stretching from floor to ceiling and boasting natural day light.

Outside guests are welcome to one off-road parking spot on the shared driveway, but if you need more spaces, the waterfall car park is just across the road and is free!

For a perfect getaway to North Wales, choose The Breathe Residence as your base.

Note: Property can be booked with Refs. 1079446, 1079457, 1079459 and 1079460, together sleeping 22 guests.

The Waterfalls Apartments

The Waterfalls Apartments are beautifully finished inside a historic chapel that dates back to 1823, (owned by local couple Jules and Mike Peters), situated opposite the stunning Dyserth waterfalls. Mike is the lead singer of The Alarm, the renowned Welsh rock band, appearing on stages around the world with U2, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and many more. The Alarm Chapel is also the site of many recorded Alarm albums over the years and when The Alarm are not touring the world, you will find Mike and Jules pottering about the village of Dyserth where they reside (and where Mike was born) with their two children, Dylan, Evan ap Michael and Golden Retriever, Ziggy Stardust. The Chapel has been lovingly developed by Mike and Jules over the last few years, transforming this special holy place into five modern apartments with Italian furniture and finishings. All the apartments come with off-road parking as well as flexible sleeping arrangements, for extra convenience. The village of Dyserth, which was once recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086, lies below the slopes of Moel Hiraddug - designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty since 1985; its wildflower spaces harbour such rarities as white violets and orchids while overhead you may see buzzards wheeling and, if you are very lucky, peregrine falcons. The name Dyserth has evolved from the original Dissard which means “hermit’s cell”, the village is steeped in history and the remnants of previous dwellers are dotted around the landscape - from an ancient pre-Roman hill fort on the top of Moel Hiraddug to the industrial heritage of quarries and lime kilns. Visitors have been coming to Dyserth since the 18th century to enjoy the fresh air as it is situated several hundred feet above sea level. The village is renowned for its spectacular waterfall (situated opposite the Waterfalls Apartments) which cascades seventy feet from the River Ffyddion in the centre of the village near the Parish church of St Bridget with its superb stained glass windows. Within walking distance from the Chapel, you can visit the local Waterfall Shop as well as local pubs, The Red Lion and New Inn, whilst further up the hill in the upper village is the Bod Unig Pub (where Mike was born) and Frankies Coffee Shop (all favourites of the Peters’ Family). An award winning butchers is situated on the High Street as well as a chemist, beauticians, hairdressers, gift shop, barbers, 2 convenience stores and Post Office plus a Chippy and Indian Takeaway! Nearby there is the dramatic ruins of the 13th century Rhuddlan Castle, where Mike and Jules promoted Rhuddlan Castle Rocks, a concert featuring The Levellers and Ocean Colour Scene as well as being the location for the award-winning film Vinyl, filmed at the Castle and the Chapel, featuring acclaimed actors, Phli Daniels and Keith Allen; in Rhuddlan there is also a stunning golf course (discounted green fees on request as the Peters Family play golf). A short drive or walk takes you to the coast, (the Peters’ Family are avid hikers), and you can explore the local seaside towns of Rhyl and Prestatyn which boast miles of golden sandy beaches and stunning new hip beach bars, including the KiteSurf Bar, The Pavilion 1891 Restaurant & Theatre and the funky Nova Beach Cocktail Bar where you can watch the sun go down after a memorable day spent between the mountains and the sea. Further afield, the Chapel is the perfect launch pad to enjoy the scenic majesty of Snowdonia National Park plus the gateway to adventure and all that local firm Zip World can offer, be it Treetop Nets, a Forest roller coaster, or the fastest zipline in the world; not to mention Surf Snowdonia where you can enjoy the surreal and invigorating experience of surfing in the mountains! The island of Anglesey beckons in the distance, less than an hour’s drive away with sandy bays, rocky coves, windsurfing and the best parts of the North Wales Coastal Path which leads you all along the coastline from The Chapel and beyond. Head inland to the lakes and the market towns of Denbigh and Ruthin, set against a backdrop of castles that have to be seen to be believed. Whichever direction your staycation takes you, the Waterfalls Apartments are a splendid base whilst you explore the beauty and diversity of all that North Wales has to offer. The Peters’ Family tour the world every year but have a passionate love affair with their local Village and are excited to welcome you to share in all their favourite experiences of Home entwined with their experiences from distant shores. There is a welsh word called ‘hiraeth’ with no direct translation other than a ‘longing’ or a ‘desire’. We hope that The Waterfalls Chapel will stir this feeling in you and create a holiday of a lifetime.
