“Arrived at 1.”
30 min the morning during a heatwave to find the heating had been on and the radiators at 5!!!
Owner does not live nearby and you can sadly tell from the poor maintenance and dust. I believe there are housekeepers however not everything can be their responsibility.
Not family/dog friendly - garden not secure especially due to the driveway gate being broken off and lying in the garden! The makeshift ‘fencing’ is also not secure.
Such an incredible view which really should be the focus of the property yet it’s not set up for outdoor afternoons/evenings for enjoying the view - grass not cut and paving poorly maintained / no outdoor lighting other than a security light and no parasol in spite of photos showing one / outdoor furniture set not there in spite of photos showing it. Windows were dirty inside and out marring the view.
Not set up for a family staying for a week never mind a fortnight like us. - No outdoor clothes airer - the flimsy indoor ones blow over outside and there was no pegs so the clothes just took off/ no basket for washing etc. The washing machine was disgusting and sour!
Had to chip out the frost from the freezer in order to use it.
Barely any functional storage in the main bedroom. Wardrobe was filled with all sorts of spare and random items for the house.
Stinking hoover couldn’t be used for the disgusting smell coming from it.
Big house with little comfort or decor - very very basic and old with cobbled together items.
Would have been so angry about the unsecured garden had our dog not died the day before we arrived particularly because the reason we chose a dog friendly house was because it was to be her last holiday with us.
Many statements in the info in the ‘welcome book’ was no longer correct or relevant including the location for emergency services info - there was none.
Many of the photos advertised are no longer accurate.
Overall opinion - excellent location with amazing views and really comfortable beds but such a disappointment.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the property's stunning views and found the beds comfortable, although we are sorry that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations.
Following receipt of your comments, we have carefully reviewed the matters raised. The heating system has been checked and is operating correctly, as it is controlled by the main thermostat rather than the individual radiator settings. We also note your comments regarding the windows. The property is attended by a window cleaner on a monthly basis, though we appreciate that the recent dry weather and increased dust levels may have impacted their appearance.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the garden and outdoor areas. While the property welcomes dogs, the garden is not advertised as being enclosed, and we encourage guests to supervise their pets accordingly during their stay. Contrary to your feedback, there are also fully functioning outdoor lights in working order fitted to the front and rear of the property, along with an outdoor patio furniture set including a table and six chairs.
For the benefit of your comfort and convenience, housekeepers visited you during your stay to provide you with fresh bedding & towels during your two week stay, you were also offered additional cleaning, and an early check in, all of which at no additional charge - but I see this has not been included in your feedback.
It is a shame that none of these concerns were raised with us during your stay. Had any issues been raised, these would have of course been rectified immediately, so it is disappointing and frustrating to read these comments as post stay feedback, especially considering the high volume of messages received from yourself prior to, and during your stay at Bryn Y Mor.
We will be investigating the comments regarding the property's amenities and equipment. We do, however, advertise the facilities provided at the property to help guests understand what is included prior to booking.
We were particularly saddened to read of the circumstances surrounding the loss of your dog prior to your arrival. Please accept our sincere condolences for what must have been an incredibly difficult and upsetting time for you.
Guest feedback is invaluable in helping us maintain and improve the property, and we thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. We are pleased that the location, views, and comfortable beds were highlights of your stay, and we hope that any improvements made as a result of your comments will enhance the experience for future guests.
