    “Great location!”

    Ideally situated in the centre of Ruthin, it sits directly opposite the wonderful Small Plates restaurant. Although it is central we found it to be pretty quiet. The garage and the kitchen are on the ground floor with the shower room (we particularly appreciated the roomy shower with a non-slip base), bedroom and lounge on the floor above. The advantage of this arrangement is that from the latter there is a rooftop view of Ruthin and the surrounding countryside. In this tastefully decorated ...

    Ideally situated in the centre of Ruthin, it sits directly opposite the wonderful Small Plates restaurant. Although it is central we found it to be pretty quiet. The garage and the kitchen are on the ground floor with the shower room (we particularly appreciated the roomy shower with a non-slip base), bedroom and lounge on the floor above. The advantage of this arrangement is that from the latter there is a rooftop view of Ruthin and the surrounding countryside. In this tastefully decorated and newly carpeted lounge there are two comfortable sofas, an armchair, two small coffee tables and a desk. A large SMART TV provides the entertainment. There is a newly installed, attractive kitchen which is well equipped. In the same room are the dining table and chairs. We have now stayed at Dove Cottage twice and Michelle, the owner, has been very helpful and has provided us with a number of treats each time. The Bara Brith fruit cake is delicious! Ruthin is ideal for visiting North Wales as there is a good road network around there.

You are greeted downstairs by a beautiful, spacious & fully equipped kitchen & dining area with utility.

Upstairs you will find the first floor sitting room which enjoys spectacular mountain views from its large bay window best viewed while snuggled up on one of the cottages comfortable sofas.

Or curl up with a book and take advantage of the quiet reading corner with views over the town.

The King-size bedroom offers a romantic feel with beautiful bedding, elegant furnishing, and chandelier along with stunning mountain views.

The newly fitted shower room is brightly lit and stylishly appointed with large walk in shower.

Situated just off the main town square it is ideally located to enjoy the many eateries, beautiful scenery & local attractions.

Ruthin Castle with its resident peacocks, The Gaol, Nant Clwyd House and Artisan Market are all within a 5 minute walk.

The towns 2 main restaurants (booking recommended) Small Plates serving beautiful tapas and The Fat Boar on the hill serving traditional English cuisine along with Pen Y Bryn café for a full cooked breakfast are all located on the same street.

About the location

RUTHIN

Llangollen 12 miles; Bala 18.5 miles; Chester 25 miles; Betws-y-Coed 30 miles.

The hilltop town of Ruthin lies to the north of Llangollen via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass. The town is picturesque with attractive half-timbered buildings, mainly clustered around St Peter’s Square. There are many interesting shops and buildings, whilst the Nant Clwyd House (the oldest timber frame in Wales), Ruthin Gaol and Ruthin Craft Centre, which houses work by internationally recognised artists and craftspeople, are also worth a visit. Beautiful countryside is on Ruthin’s doorstep with Lake Brenig, Moel Famau Country Park and Clocaenog Forest close by. Further afield, but still within easy touring distance, are the coast, Snowdonia National Park and historic Chester.
