“Nice property, a little dated, but with good amount of space, use of swimming pool and hot tub was a bonus.”

Plug for machine to clear water on swimming pool was 2 pin plug plugged into a 3 pin socket - informed was temperamental! ? dangerous. Advertised as having use of a washing machine and tumble dryer but not available. No pictures of kitchen on listing - kitchen was small and not what was expected for this size property - cooking for up to 14 people and storage of food quite difficult due to limited space. There is a larger kitchen that is locked for owners use only. Photos of bar area on listing ...

Thank you for your feedback. While we welcome constructive comments, we feel it’s important to clarify a few points to ensure an accurate picture of your stay: • Kitchen & Laundry: Tall Trees has two kitchens, a large private kitchen and a spacious guest kitchen, fully equipped and larger than a typical family kitchen. Out of goodwill, we also allowed access to our personal kitchen for extra fridge space, and provided use of the washing machine and dryer when requested. • Pool Servicing: We confirmed the pool service time with you in advance and sought your agreement beforehand to make sure everything stayed in top condition during your stay. • Personal Items: We granted access to a room containing decorative chess sets and a few personal belongings as a gesture of trust. No previous guest has ever raised concern about this. • Bar Area: Guests are always welcome to use the bar space, as every group does. The only restriction is that alcohol displayed on the shelves is not for consumption, which is a standard and reasonable policy. • Electrical Safety: The pool pump plug is fully compliant and has been professionally signed off by a qualified electrician. • House Rules & Pets: Our pet policy clearly states that pets are not permitted upstairs. Unfortunately, this rule was not followed, resulting in soiled wool carpets requiring professional cleaning. A significant amount of dog mess was also left in the garden, something we have never encountered before. • “Feeling Like a Home”: Tall Trees was our family home for many years, and many guests tell us they love its warmth, charm and character, qualities that set it apart from typical rentals. We’re proud that the vast majority of our guests have wonderful stays and leave glowing reviews. This was an isolated case, and we remain committed to providing high standards and a welcoming environment for all future visitors. Regrettably, we believe this review was influenced by the small pet-related cleaning charge. Property Owner

About the location

LLANDYRNOG

Denbigh 4.4 miles; Ruthin 5.3 miles.

The pretty Welsh village of Llandyrnog lies to the east of Denbigh, north of the historic town of Ruthin, close to the Offa’s Dyke and Clwydian Way walking paths. Set in delightful rolling countryside in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the village benefits from three village pubs, two offering meals, along with a bar/restaurant, a Post Office and general store and a butcher, as well as being the home of Llandyrnog Creamery, famed for its cheese and milk production. Nearby lies the market town of Denbigh, which dates back to the 11th century and boasts the remains of a 13th century castle, perched on a steep hill above the town and commanding some superb views over the surrounding countryside. Denbigh is a busy little town, with a variety of shops and pubs, and a number of events including walking festivals, beer festivals, the Denbigh and Flint Annual Show, the Clay Art Potters Market and a monthly People's Market. Within easy reach of Denbigh are the cathedral at St Asaph, the castle at Bodelwyddan, the seaside resorts of Llandudno, Prestatyn or Colwyn Bay, and the historic city of Chester, over the border into England. The Snowdonia National Park is a short drive, with its stunning lakes, mountains, walking, cycling and mountain biking with local trails in the forest, while the Llyn Peninsula and excellent beaches on the Isle of Anglesey are ideal for a day trip. Plenty to see and do at any time of the year!
