What a beautiful property, we rented for the weekend for our grandsons 18th, everything we needed, boys loved the extra lounge, so able to chill on their computer games, whilst the adults chilled in front of the log burner with a glass of wine, also enjoyed the garden and games tables, great time had by all, was lovely for everyone to sit around the table for meals, our 17yr old grandson has already said he wants his 18th at Garth, thank you for sharing your home, highly recommended Mandy and ...

“Absolutely fantastic space - 11 of us stayed there and there was plenty of room for all of us.”

Separate lounge areas meant the kids had their own space to the adults, and all the rooms were plenty big enough. Could even get the additional fold-out bed into the single room. Log burner was a nice feature too during our autumn stay. Dining table was large enough to seat all 11 us together at meal times, which was a big box ticker for us, and the kitchen was well equipped. On the cleanliness front this was fine for the visible areas, but as furniture / rugs got moved it was clear that it hadn't been 'deep cleaned' for a while - with muck and bits of toys etc hiding in the unseen areas. Kitchen and bathroom areas were well cleaned and maintained to a good standard, although the utility area at the rear of the property absolutely reeked of wet dog. This did seem to be the area catering for dogs with feeding bowls etc so to some extent is understandable, however was an unwelcome aroma for our group staying there who don't have dogs. On the plus side we kept the rear kitchen door closed and that contained the smell to a large extent. In terms of kitchen equipment - pretty much all bases / needs were covered, and the welcome hamper on arrival was lovely. However there only seemed to be one champagne flute type glass. I'd have thought that a property housing this many people would be playing frequent host to celebrations of one type or another where a bottle of fizz or two would be popped. Always takes the edge of it when you have to drink it from a normal wine glass. That would be the only addition I'd make to the kitchen facilities. Bit of annoying miscommunication from Sykes meaning when we got there the additional fold-out bed hadn't been setup. However the owner did call us asap (from Florida) to help which was a nice touch. By that time though we'd found the beds and bedding and sorted out ourselves. Lovely location for rural peace and quiet. In terms of activities we did a couple of walks right from the doorstep; unfortunately a lot of the public rights of way marked on OS maps don't really seem to be adhered to by a lot of the local landowners - so just be aware if planning your own walks. However of course that's no fault of the cottage itself. When we did sort our walks out they were very pleasant and good to be able to ramble from the front door and back again.

There was everything you would need to have a comfortable stay. Lovely welcome basket from the owners. We do hope to return there someday soon. It’s a very beautiful Cottage inside and out, we had a wonderful 6 days there.

“What a delightful cottage.”

The lane up to it was a bit of a shock, but once we were in, it was so lovely and comfortable. It had everything we needed for our weekend away. Our children and grandchildren loved playing the boad games, too. The communication with the owner prior to the weekend was really helpful. Oh, and the hamper and card were a lovely surprise. I can imagine our lane is a bit of a surprise if you are not used to country roads but as you will have discovered we are less than a mile from the main road and there are only three of four cars a day that travel along it. “Just a fabulous place to stay.”

They have thought if everything (and more) the beds, the bedding, linen and towels were all just beautiful. The kitchen had everything and more you could think of and need....and I need that kitchen and stove!!! The fact the table was laid and dressed as in the photos really lovely and the basket of goodies very, very much appreciated. The beds and the sofas were just so comfortable and both the lounges were used by both young and old ...those views! The large kitchen was not only an eating space but we played games on and around the huge table and the highchair provided was perfect to contain our toddler. The garden was an exceptional space for the whole family and dog to enjoy with the added bonus of the outdoor ping pong, football table and our newly acquired family members ...the very pretty and friendly cows. The parking was more than ample for our 3 vehicles. Our family of 11 and a dog had the most amazing time and would highly recommend Garth Cottage !

“Our family including grandkids spent a week here and we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.”

There is loads of room in the property - plenty of room in the bedrooms and the two separate lounges are an advantage, particularly whwn watching TV. We also used cot & highchair. Large dining space adjoining the kitchen area is great and the kitchen is well appointed. Also modern washer & drier for laundry. One suggestion would be to also have a couple of airers for internal use if weather inclement. Great views from the property and you can say hello to neighbouring cows & sheep (and also the farmer!). Very good communication from the owner before & throughout our stay.

“Garth cottage was lovely we had great weather and hired a hot tub from Jamie which was also great.”

“Great property.”

Really well founded kitchen with all the utensils you could ask for. “Great house, just a little hard to find :) Be careful on the roads leading to the property, as they are very narrow, and can be a nuisance if there is another vehicle coming the other way (as are all country roads).”

“I can not believe how beautiful this home is.”

Definitely has a homely country feel to it! The rural, secluded location is a hidden Welsh Gem! The views make you want to melt! Off a single lane farm track. (Minimal traffic) we saw 4 vehicles the whole time we were there 1 being the postie! So don't worry too much about the lane! There is a local town- say 9 mins by car. Where we collected fish and chips the first evening we stayed. (10/10) ( We popped into Rhyl while we waited for our 4pm check in time.) We ventured to Conwyn Castle the following day- then did a stop by stop on the way home passing through llandudno, Rhos on sea, Colwyn bay (old and new) Pensarns then back to Garth. Absolutely fantastic places-all well worth a day out each at, or a few hours at each! I really loved how the house was set out. A large entrance hall with a dinning table. This lead off to a large kitchen seating 11/12 easily as pictured. Every utensil you may need available. Amble storage for fresh/frozen and cupboard items. There were a good array of condiments left at the property. Salt pepper oil ect. This may not always be able but was there at least for us. (Good if you forget your own). Large seating area to the left of entrance hall with large, extremely comfortable corner sofa. To the right of the entrance hall is all the bedrooms. One is upstairs 2 singles 1 bulk bed. Along with a second seating area and larger corner sofa than the one downstairs with a larger t.v and sound system. All beds were excellent. The mattress luxurious. Bed sheets beautiful. Small touches elegant. Making it very welcoming. The welcome basket was as always- so so welcome! Amazing quality items! Lovely touch! We had a Internet issue-which was sorted immediately by Mick the owner via email, and calls. You seriously can not fault his handling of this issue-even being in the USA at time of fault occurring! Although not a huge drama for us as we were away and there to spend time with 3 generations of family! So talking and playing took up the need for any tech! There were fabulous games inside and outside. The kids had a cracking time on the large green, over looked by the resident sheep! There were a couple of cobwebs about but in My opinion this serves a purpose should any stray flies make it into the property-so no trouble at all for us seeing them or having them present! (Just wouldn't want anyone ridiculing the home for this reason! So forewarning- for anyone who is slightly precious about this sort of thing!) It's a home from home! Mick was amazing and a fabulous owner! Thank you both so much for having us. We wish you every success for the future and hope everyone who visits in future enjoys your property as much as we did. As mentioned in other reviews sat nav stops at wrong property (ou Mick find out WHAT3WORDS is for your property! That will certainly help future guests!) I forget to get them when I was there. “Beautiful cottage, with really good amenities.”

Everything was thought of for the guests, even the 'welcome pack' on the kitchen table Ideal for families that enjoy the countryside. We took the mountain bikes to Llyn Brenig and Llyn Alwen as they were only a 15-minute drive away from the cottage. Plenty of room in the fridge and the freezer and the kitchen was very stocked with equipment. All of the cottage bedrooms are good sized with plenty of wardrobe space and even had an upstairs TV and lounge for teenagers. Thankyou Marian and Mick for your hello email ! “Absolutely phenomenal property and couldn't have been happier with our stay.”

The attention to detail with everything was just beautiful, so many extra touches that made us feel so welcome and gave great home comforts. Beds were all really comfy, shower in the main bathroom was good and sofas nice and comfortable too. We were a large family group ranging from 3 to 72 and everyone was really pleased with everything. Mick and Marian are wonderfully thoughtful hosts and we're already planning out next visit. Extremely well stocked kitchen made breakfast for 11 a breeze, the entire house was beautifully decorated for Christmas and felt extra special for the children with letter to Santa writing kits left out for them. Can't fault a thing, loved every minute.

“We had a fabulous holiday 3 generations of us enjoyed so much time together everything was perfect except the shower in the en suite kept stopping which was very annoying when you were washing your hair, the welcome pack was exceptional and was enjoyed by us all, thankyou.”

“We had a wonderful stay at Garth Cottage with our friends just before Easter this year and I highly recommend it to everyone visiting North Wales!”

It is spacious, clean, and perfectly located for day trips to Snowdonia and the coast. The view over the hills with grazing sheep around is perfect for an idyllic morning start with a cup of coffee! We were also pleasantly surprised by a welcoming basket with a delicious selection of local cakes and biscuits! The furniture and appliances are in great condition. For us, it was important to have a warm shower & a relaxing cuppa near the fire after a day of trekking. Lots of room for kids to play and sleep together in one room (we had 5 between 3 families, aged 3-11). We brought our own board games and books, but there are plenty on the shelves (mostly nostalgic). There are 2 toilets one of which is combined with the shower & bathroom, this was just right for our group of 11 people. Thank you Mick and Marian for thinking about every little detail and for excellent communication before & after our arrival!

“We had a fantastic family holiday at Garth Cottage, celebrating an 80th Birthday for my Mum, her kids and grand kids aged 0 - 19.”

The cottage accommodated us all with ease - the bedrooms are much bigger than the pictures suggest and having an extra sitting room was great. The kitchen was the best equipped of any cottage we have stayed in and there was enough crockery and glasses for all. Bit tight parking three cars and keeping the gate shut but we managed ok. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and we had a family hike to Nantglyn and back, where the playground and stream were enjoyed. The large garden was very safe for little ones and we had a fantastic Easter Egg Hunt. Mum enjoyed topping up the birdfeeders and watching the many birds. Plenty of supermarkets in Denbigh but we also had a Sainsbury Delivery which managed the narrow lane okay. The two double bedrooms are quite chilly but we dressed accordingly and the stunning views from the double windows more than made up for the draughts. We drove to Llandudno for a taste of the seaside and some retail therapy for the teens. A fantastic holiday with memories to treasure.

Our visitors have had deliveries from Asda and Tesco as well as Sainsburys who you used and the country lanes have been no problem. The bedroom windows have two closure positions so not sure if they were set on the tightest but thanks for letting us know so we can look at it. We are always looking to improve if possible. You are right and it is hard to beat a mix of beautiful countryside and the seaside so great that everybody had such an enjoyable time. Thanks again for the review which was much appreciated. “Fantastic cottage, lovely cosy furnishings, well equipped kitchen to cook and host large families.”

We had 3 families ageing from 16 to 82 staying at Garth, all thoroughly enjoying their stay. We had fantastic meals at the large kitchen table and enjoyed relaxing fun evenings in both lounge areas. 1 bath to cater for 11 sleeping could be problematic (wasn't for us :)), but x2 showers x 3 toilets giving ample facilities for a long weekend. Anyone staying here will have a fantastic stay, especially when you arrive and see the lovely hamper, logs and table furnished, as well as the little extras you sometimes forget to pack, thank you Mick and Marian!

“Our family party of 9 (plus a dog) enjoyed a weeks’ stay at Garth Cottage during the February half term.”

The property is well equipped, particularly in the kitchen, with every kitchen utensil you could possibly need, huge oven/ hob/ fridge & freezer. Garth Cottage is ideal for an absolute ‘away from it all’ break. It is situated in a rural and fairly remote, but picturesque location, and is spacious, with comfortable beds and wonderful views. We also took a dog who enjoyed plenty of lovely walks in the vicinity of the property. Garth Cottage felt like a ’home’ rather than holiday let and we would not hesitate to return in the future.

This cottage is large, well built and well loved. It is rural & quiet with beautiful views. Everything in this cottage is good quality and well considered. The kitchen/dining area is wonderful. There is enough of everything and everything matches, the table is set as the picture on the website when you arrive! The beds are comfortable and rooms are quiet at night. My absolute favourite room was the upstairs living space, large & comfy with amazing views and a balcony. The owners are helpful, considerate & kind - I’m pretty sure we will be back.

“Attractive area and great views.”

Good cottage for a relaxed family get-together; owner very helpful eg provided an additional iron to make sure we had one. Plenty of space and a big dining table so we could eat together even with two highchairs. Wi-fi very good and Sky TV a bonus. One quibble re the listing information - we were going to be 8 adults so I searched for 3 bathrooms but Garth actually has two bathrooms (one en-suite) and a separate toilet.

The property has all the amenities you would find in your own home and more. It is also located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with many activities to do, walking, climbing, scrambling, Beaches, Surfing and the Zipwire experience. They involve a bit of travel but a well worth the effort if you can find the time.

“We booked the cottage very late (2 days notice ) having been let down by the cancellation of a trip elsewhere .”

Michael and Marion, the owners , were extremely helpful in facilitating at short notice . We were told the dishwasher Was going to be replaced and indeed it was although not until the end of our stay through no fault of the owners . However this didn’t detract from a fabulous stay at Garth. There were 11 of us in our party and a dog, across three generations and we all had a fabulous time, helped massively by good weather. The children loved the fact they had their own “quarters “ with 4 bedded room and lounge to themselves , leaving the adults to spend some quiet time together . The kitchen was really well stocked with everything you need and plenty of games for all to enjoy . The views from the house across the Welsh hills is stunning and we enjoyed some really good walks , although not really for the unfit ! Lots of places to visit and Llyn Brenig was only 15 mins away. We had never heard of this place but it was lovely with a nice walk across the dam, adventure playground and motor boats to hire. Garth is a little remote with narrow lanes surrounding it but it did mean the children could make as much noise as they liked without disturbing anyone . We would definitely return !

The cottage is set in the beautiful Welsh countryside, we witnessed beautiful sunsets and had such a peaceful time. It’s perfectly located quietly in the hills but easily accessible by car to local Shops and sights & activities. The cottage has everything a big or small party could need. Beds were super comfy, the 2 lounges were perfect as the children occupied one and adults the other. Large sociable kitchen, lovely log burner and not forgetting regular visits from the friendly dog next door! Garth we will be back!

We loved the cottage, especially the gorgeous kitchen and the big table in the kitchen - where we spent every evening eating a lovely homecooked meal, and all being able to sit chat together at one big table was great. The kids especially loved the lounge upstairs and having the freedom away from the adults and likewise the adults liked the cosy lounge downstairs with a roaring log burner every evening. Although we had wet, cold and windy weather, we loved all the views from the cottage - even in the rain - and we had lots of lovely days out which involved lots of lovely walks with the children and dogs. We all highly recommend Garth Cottage and would like to thank the owners for letting us stay!

The setting is quite beautiful with fabulous views of the open countryside. We were a family of 5 Adults 5 children and 2 dogs the house suited us perfectly. The layout of the house meant that the children had their own sitting room on the same level as their bedroom and they loved it. There was every amenity that we required and more. The location was fantastic. We went for my Mum's 60th with all the family and kids. Getting to the property was simple and gave a nice feeling of being very rural but somehow with excellent 4g signal! The property was very clean and was set up well for everyone. The kitchen was obviously new and was well equipped. We came from all over and so had three cars and there was probably room for a couple more with a bit of juggling. There were nice touches like the hunt for the bird feeders, which the kids enjoyed, and the Welsh cakes on arrival. I could go on.

“We were a party (extended family + 1 dog) of 11/12 who stayed at Garth Cottage for a week at the end of July.”

The cottage itself is spacious and has most of the facilities a large/extended family would need to spend some quality time together. The cottage itself is quite secluded so you're going to need plenty of rations, board games and wine (sort the order of priority yourselves), we enjoyed the spacious upstairs lounge when we needed to get away from the kids and noise, remember to note your Netflix password for the films. You will probably also get a visit from Tommy the friendly Jack Russell from the neighbouring property, according to the owners he used to live there and still thinks he does.We experienced the obligatory Welsh rain for a couple of those days but made the most of our time together at Prestatyn (nice town and beach), Llandudno (ditto), Betws-y-coed (picturesque, with nice shops and kids railway), Llangollen (good places to eat and pretty). We also got as far afield as Liverpool for the day (1h15m) and Chester is also a similar distance. All in all it was an interesting Welsh country hideaway in a nice setting with lovely views. One recommendation, communicate with the owners, they are very welcoming and willing to please. Thank you both Mick and Marian.

Stunning location. Lots of space in the house and outside for 5 adults, 5 children and 2 cockapoos. The owners have really thought of everything to make guests welcome and comfortable. Kitchen is amazing and plenty of room round the big table for us to enjoy food and laughs. The children particularly loved the bird feeder hunt in the garden. It felt like home away from home here. “This was a fabulous, modern meets historic home in beautiful countryside!”

Garth was the perfect mix of 2019, traditional and the countryside life! We were a mixed party of adults and children and everybody had a great time! The house is very spacious, spotlessly clean and we had everything we needed. The youngsters loved the wifi and cable, but we found ourselves outside most of the time because the setting was so beautiful! During the day we enjoyed being in the upstairs sitting room with it’s lovely views and we spent most evenings in the downstairs sitting room enjoying its cosy log burner. The house was very safe for the toddlers in the party and the enclosed garden was perfect for the dog! The usb chargers throughout the house were very handy! No worries about the Wi-Fi despite the rural spot. It was excellent throughout the house- impressive! We hired a hot tub for part of our stay and it was set up in the barn together with fairy lights which made it very festive! We hope to visit again! Laura. Colorado

“We had a fantastic time in this house.”

It was so lovely, comfortable, spacious, and well equipped. The gardens were excellent for the children to play in. Plenty of outdoor furniture, and the opportunity to hire a hot tub which we did. It's location is good, close to the sea-side resorts, Snowdonia National park and other areas in the East of Wales. Good value for money and very helpful owners who were easily reached by telephone. I would definitely recommend this house to all my friends.

Three generations of our family stayed here for a long weekend.The young teens especially loved the upstairs where they had their own bedroom on one side and a TV lounge on the other.It was like their own private apartment.Us oldies chilled out in the lounge downstairs with its warm and cosy log fire.Everything is finished to a very high standard and the large kitchen is equipped with everything you would ever need.All the bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable.Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us but we would love to return in the summer and sit on the balcony to enjoy the views and soak up the peace and quiet.Would highly recommend this property

Everything just hit the spot! The cottage was very spacious and cosy with wonderful views all around. Before we went we were a bit concerned about having two dogs with us and the potential to spoil such a gorgeous house but the general areas were geared up to take them - you can't fail to be relaxed in this house! There's lots to do in the area around - we went to Lake Brenig, Llandudno, Lake Bala & nearby Barmouth, Betwys Y Coed, the North Wales coast etc.I recommend a local pub The Llindir Inn in Henllan - down to earth, they brew their own beer and meals are tastyand reasonable, dogs allowed too. We didn't want to return home but we'll be back!

We had a nice walk with our 4 year old daughter to a small children’s park in NANT GLYN it was just over a mile but a nice walk and just far enough for her. The views are beautiful loved being in the upstairs living room in the day looking at the views and downstairs in the evening with the cozy fire the beds our so comfortable we made some lovely memories here will visit again...

“The property would benefit from more bins or larger recycling as it caters for a large amount of guests.”

The outside bin was already full when we arrived. The WiFi was not great which is understandable because of its rural location however it is a selling point maybe not state super fast broadband. This did not ruin our stay we had a wonderful time at Garth Cottage and would highly reccomend it. We took 2 16 year olds a 14yr old and 11 and 10yrs. We all had a great time in Denbigh and the surrounding area.

We actually had BT install a WiFi fibre-optic cable direct to the house and we know from our own experience that it does give very fast speeds which are much higher than most of what is available locally.
