“After arriving the owner Alison greeted us, and told us if we wanted anything to just knock next door.”
There was a very welcome welsh lemon cake and tea, coffee and sugar sachets, and three small pots of jam and a bottle of water. There was a welcome manual with wifi code, general info on the area and beaches, what to do with the recycling etc, very well written. I put the portable heaters on a couple of mornings, as it was cool when getting up and they heated the rooms quickly. Very nice shower over the bath although it was a bit tricky getting the shower panel at the right angle to stop the water going over the side of the bath and flooding the floor. Could have done with a fixed mirror over the sink in the bathroom, there is a small portable one but I found it difficult for shaving, and I had to keep refilling the sink with water as the plug wasn't holding the full amount properly. The sofas could do with being updated as they have lost any support and we found them way too soft and you sank into them, but that might be personal preference. The garden could do with a trim over the bridge as we went to walk there but it was overgrown with nettles, so we gave up. There was no phone signal on either of our mobile phones in the cottage, my wife could only get a signal on hers when we had gone out for the day, that is not the owners fault but be aware of it. I got a signal standing outside the garage but it kept going in and out. There is a brilliant signal down on the beach, which is a 10 min walk down a hill. Lovely long beach and we went down nearly every night, but I have asthma so after the first time walking back, we then took the car as there is parking down at the bottom for 4-5 cars. It is a lovely place to stay and explore the area, and the natives were very friendly and we enjoyed our holiday immensely.
