“This was a convenient location for good days out, nicely decorated, and the bed was comfortable with clean smelling sheets.”

Lots of cookware & tableware available. It could be a wonderful place if it was properly serviced, looked after and maintained with some basic love and attention. Lots of cookware & tableware available. It could be a wonderful place if it was properly serviced, looked after and maintained with some basic love and attention. There were SO MANY cobwebs all over the walls, ceilings, and corners and 21 visible spiders of varying size and species, throughout the house. The blinds, light bulbs, casings, and shades were FULL of dead bugs and webs. There were bare nails hanging out of the living room wall and a painting shoved under the sofa along with someone else's abandoned dog's toys. The front door lock casing was broken. The kitchen stair railings were splashed with dirty water and lots of short stubbly dog hairs and the skylight was increasingly filling with flies even with closed windows as our stay continued. There was a big yellow slug in the kitchen sink plug. The kitchenware was filthy and encrusted with old food and grease so it all had to be washed before we would use it. Whatever was on the cheese grater made me feel nauseous. There was no salt, pepper, or even any basic cleaning products to use so we had to purchase our own. There WAS some old melted coffee granules in the caddy though. Tea towel was smelly and damp. Only 1 provided. No hand soap. 1 thin toilet roll for a whole week. The bath towels were random wacky sizes, and mismatched. The bed sheets were worn and bobbly and had felt tip pen on them, other stains that I could make out were possible blood and mould on the grey pillowcase. I opened the under-bed drawer in the double room to store clothes, and found a smelly towel and what could have been either a food sauce, or some vomit had run down and pooled in there, so I didn't want to use them. I read reviews saying the twin room smelled of vomit, so I explored. I would say it was more like wet anoraks. The plug in air fresheners do nothing to hide it. Internet connection was poor in this obviously remote location, but the password was incorrect in the Welcome Pack folder, which also contained the bin schedule FOR 2022 and requests for us to clean despite there being no products to do so, which everyone before us had also seemingly ignored. It asked for feedback in the guestbook which was nowhere to be found. This could be such a sweet little cosy place for people to spend a holiday, but it seems like nobody cares for it, nobody loves it or looks after it, and nobody looks above or below eye level or checks any furniture when / if they are cleaning. Pretty disappointing standards for a holiday let, I have stayed in better locations, in cheaper accommodation with much higher standards.

As your eyes grow heavy, climb the stairs up to the first floor, where you can choose from two well-appointed bedrooms to catch your rest in, a double and a twin, both with plenty of storage for your belongings.

In the morning, start your day right with a steaming cup of coffee and a refreshing shower in the large double shower, before heading out to explore.
