    “Nant Cottage was excellent.”

    A really old and quirky property that was spacious and well-equipped. The grounds were perfect and the beck and waterfall were a real novelty. The cottage is much more spacious than it looks on the photos and was very warm and welcoming. All the period features are present and it feels like staying in the past. Scones with fresh cream and jam, an Easter egg and milk were all provided and much appreciated on arrival! Location-wise, it was very handy to access the whole of northern ...

Scones with fresh cream and jam, an Easter egg and milk were all provided and much appreciated on arrival! Location-wise, it was very handy to access the whole of northern Snowdonia and right on the Gywdir Marw MTB trail too. Also worth mentioning is that dogs are not allowed, which is fantastic and something other property owners should insist on too - no hair, smell, slobber or poo. We have stayed in a LOT of holiday homes over the years and this one was definitely the best we’ve come across. Thank you for an excellent week of adventures and comfort.

The property

Llanrwst 1 mile; Betws-y-Coed 3 miles. A superb, detached stone-built cottage situated in a truly idyllic woodland position on the edge of the Gwydir Forest and only 300 yards from Gwydir Castle, within the Snowdonia National Park.

The property enjoys over three hundred years of history and retains many original features including two foot thick stone walls, inglenook fireplaces and beamed ceilings.

More recently it has been sympathetically modernised to an exceptionally high standard and offers every modern comfort.

Visitors will also enjoy the sunny garden and the sound of nearby waterfalls.

Betws-y-Coed, with its many amenities, is three miles away.

Betws-y-Coed, known as the Gateway to Snowdonia, is North Wales' most popular inland resort. Surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country, this is a haven for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. At Betws-y-Coed the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, and the beauty of the area is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges. Most famous of all are the magnificent Swallow Falls, situated where the Llugwy River hurls itself into a spectacular chasm. The village has shops, pubs, places to eat, miniature railway, a riverside golf course and the Tree Top Adventure High Ropes Course, and is home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre, as well as being the start of the beautiful Conwy Valley which leads to the coast and the lovely towns of Llandudno and Conwy.
