“A lovely, cosy cottage with easy access to the beauty of the Lleyn Penninsula, plus lovely views from the village.”

Ideal for us as a couple. Lots of character, thoughtful seaside themed styling and clean on arrival. Good to have a decent sized outdoor space, especially in the hot weather, though as pointed out in the listing, there are quite steep steps up to the platform where the garden furniture is. We were fine- just watched our footing when coming down again.As the owner points out, it wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility issues.Still good to have and a long garden. Children could play on the ...

We were fine- just watched our footing when coming down again.As the owner points out, it wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility issues.Still good to have and a long garden. Children could play on the more level grass area at the top.Well-equipped. There was always a space right outside for parking- pull right into the wall, as there could be a bit of traffic passing first thing in the morning and at tea time.Very helpful owner when I messaged to ask questions, eg if there is a freezer compartment in the fridge,( there is!)

Warm and homely. Part time shop in village and buses daily. Good situation for Caenathen or lower coast line Pwllheli ect. Walking in area.

Real lack of basic items one would expect in a holiday rental such as handsoap or fish sponge etc.

Hi, I’m sorry to hear that you weren’t totally satisfied with your stay. The cleaning team usually provide , towels , shampoo , conditioner and soap so I apologize if this was not the case for your stay. I will look into the ‘musty’ smell. Many thanks for your feedback Property Owner

“Lovely house in a village Everything you need, warm and cosy.”

Village pub opened most evenings except Monday and Tuesday, no food served in pub. Small local shop.

“Lovely little cottage.”

We were unfortunately caught during two winter storms during our stay so spent a couple of days indoors! Everything well organised and clean and cosy. We had a lovely stay.

“Beautiful cottage in a stunning setting amongst the rolling Welsh mountains!”

We had a lovely stay although we’re disappointed upon arrival to find the cottage not how we expected from stays at Sykes cottages previously. I had to clean the kitchen and appliances before use as utensils had remanence of the previous tenancy food on them, the sideboard had the mornings toast crumbs on them. Sadly, after a six hour journey we would also have loved a cup of tea but there was no welcome pack apart from an information booklet - we have never had this before so be mindful of taking milk as that tea is so needed! The beds are super comfy and the views from the main bedroom so pretty - you can see the sea! Upstairs was faultless and the decor was comfy and very homely.

We do provide Tea & Coffee at the property, but not Milk currently as we live 2 hours away and it is currently not possible. “The property was a bit mixed in regards to the facilities.”

The lounge and bedrooms were good but the kitchen had quite a lot of mould stains and the bathroom was very dated. The garden was also a little disappointing. The kitchen would also benefit from some larger bowls for serving food. However, it was clean, the lounge was nice and the beds were comfortable.

LLITHFAEN

Nefyn 4 miles; Abersoch 12 miles.

The small village of Llithfaen is one of the highest villages on the Llyn Peninsula, enjoying some of the best views around due to its location on the slopes of the Yr Eifl mountain range. The village boasts its own community-run village shop and local pub, which was established in 1988 and offers a friendly welcome. Llithfaen is very proud of its Welsh heritage with the Welsh Language and Heritage Centre and restaurant located just up the road at Nant Gwrtheyrn, which also has a pebble beach. The pretty coastal town of Nefyn lies 4 miles away, sitting atop sweeping cliffs, and is home to a fine, two-mile stretch of sandy beach, popular with families, along with a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. The village is also within reach of the amenities of the popular towns of Pwllheli, Abersoch and Caernarfon. In nearby Porth Dinllaen is the Ty Coch pub, voted 3rd best 'beach bar' in the world in an online feature in June 2013. The coastline around this region is dotted with castles and coves, while fishing, sailing and water sports are all available. The Snowdonia National Park is 25 miles away, with its dramatic scenery and abundance of superb walks. With its proximity to such a wide range of destinations, this area makes a superb base for a break in North Wales.
