“Pleasant stay in nice part of Wales.”

However just a few problems. No teapot or can opener. Hot water was too hot, could scold. TV unwatchable due to error messages and freezing (Internet seemed fine). No books, games or dvd's as listed. Info pack out of date.

“Lovely property fitted our needs perfectly, thanks for the snacks left for us upon arrival, would have been nice to have a choice of thicker duvet or blanket for beds as those supplied were a little thin for time of year.”

Some tourist information for surrounding area would have been good as well, but really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

“We had a great week at a very well equipped cottage, welcome pack was much appreciated.”

A comfy lounge and beds, great shower but a couple of things could do with a bit of attention otherwise I would have given five stars. The front door letterbox was missing (doesn't give a great first impression) . Had a lovely week weather wise but the garden was totally overgrown so could not sit out. Had two really bad downpours in the evening and the pathway around the cottage floods quite badly - could do with the drainage sorting out. A great base for exploring the area, nice walk down the lane to the Gilers Arms had a lovely Sunday lunch. Not far to Betws-y-Coed which is beautiful and Port Merrion is well worth a visit.

“There was occasionally a strong smell of gas near the front entrance.”

The WiFi had a very poor signal and was slow sometimes. Apart from the two faults I enjoyed my stay at the cottage, and the welcome pack was very much appreciated. The views where the cottage is were amazing. I can strongly recommend staying here very restful and peaceful place.

“The property was generally nice but could have done with some attention to detail i.”

E the doors did not close properly. The house smelt very damp including the bedding. The beds had a horrible smell like they had not been washed. I have stayed at quite a few properties with Sykes. This one was not one of the best. The garden was totally overgrown and not maintained so could not sit out. There was also a gas smell. The owner said an engineer would come and have a look but we did not see anyone have a look at the boiler. He merely said there is a carbon monoxide reader and that would go off if there was a leak.

“The Proprietor Arfona Is Always very helpful if there is a problem, A Very Polite Lady Who Manages the Cottage Really Well.”

The Cottage is very clean ,Fresh bedding and Towels Compulsory. Excellent Facilities, Great Powerful Shower,and Comfortable Beds,Washing Machine is a Great Facility. A lovely Picturesque and Peaceful Setting Generous Car Parking,Excellent TV.We Have booked again for next year,It's a Great Country Location. A Big Thank You for a Wonderful Holiday Break.

“Lovely last minute break, a nice welcome basket on arrival was a nice gesture.”

Facilities good, comfy beds and a great power shower. The property owners were friendly, approachable and accessible for a few minor issues we had during our stay. The only negative was a little more attention to cleaning such has the shower. Overall good value and would recommend.

“We had to buy a lightbulb for the front single bedroom as their was one missing.”

The double bed is extremely uncomfortable. The mattress is very thin. We had to phone the owner to put more WiFi on the pay as you go WiFi. Even though we did not use it for streaming it ran out on Thursday. The road noise was too noisy for us. Cars were going past at 60 mph. The cottage was very clean and well kitted out.

“Generally the property is a good base for a holiday.”

It is spacious with good parking area. It is however quite a way outside of Betws-y-coed and about a 1.5 mile walk to the nearest pub / shop. It is on a busy main road but it is quieter overnight. The cottage was clean however a few maintenance issues which we didn't get a chance to report - the toaster doesn't work (we used the grill instead); the frying pan handle was loose; and there was a dead fly in the microwave - the property does get quite a few flies inside. The front single bedroom needed a light bulb in the main light. When it rains the pathway around the cottage floods causing almost a moat effect - could do with the drainage sorting out. The main bedroom was a good size but could do with some more hangers. Also the bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept in. The single beds in the other rooms were fine. The bathroom was good - a nice shower although no hot water in the evenings for the shower. If taking teenagers best to know that the wifi was non-existent but also that the area is a bit of a deadspot for internet connections. Would recommend making the bin collection instructions clearer. We put all the bins out just in case but as one is only collected monthly if we had missed it would have had another month's wait. Lots of great places to visit nearby and we had a great holiday.

“There should be more mugs and some more bowls.”

Should have an outside hanging area for clothes drying. However the biggest issue is the state of the pillows, please buy some new ones. Only one out the the eight in the house was not flatter than a pancake.

“We booked this cottage based on its positive reviews; however, our experience could not have been further from the opinions of previous holidaymakers who have stayed at this property.”

When we arrived, the cottage smelt extremely damp and was freezing cold. We turned the heating system on and all the radiators, but it made little difference. We were freezing all evening and all night, which kept us awake and the damp smell stayed all night. The old cottage clearly had no heating on for a very long time, and the owners did not bother, or see the need to warm the property up, knowing they have guests coming to stay. There is a log burner in the living room, however the owners only left logs and no matches or paper in the basket for us to get it going. The cleanliness was also well below expectations, and we ended up hoovering the entire downstairs of the cottage as soon as we arrived, as there were debris and dirt all over the kitchen floor, dining room and living room. The wood effect lino flooring did not feel clean at all and the leather settee also had crumbs all over it which we had to clean off before sitting on it. The television did not work at all, and the lighting in the living room is extremely dark and poor. There is only one ceiling light with no standing or table lamps. There was also no lightbulb in one of the upstairs bedrooms. The heating in the main upstairs bedroom is not adequate and we were freezing all night. Due to lack of sleep caused by the cold, we got up at 5am the next morning and decided to leave the property after just one night. We booked for three nights but could not stay a minute longer and were extremely disappointed. We will certainly not return to this property and would like to advise the owners to pay a lot more attention to detail when running a hospitality business.

“The cottage was very cosy and spotlessly clean, it had everything we needed and more for our stay.”

The owner was very helpful when we had an issue with the TV and internet, the bara brith and milk left for our arrival was a nice touch and much appreciated. Covid 19 instructions were clear and well adhered to. The location of the cottage was great for touring the surrounding area, the road noise was a little troublesome at times but did not detract from a lovely stay and we would highly recommend this cottage.

“Just returned from a week stay and really couldn’t fault this cottage.”

It is a home from home and is perfect for a family break. The property is clean, modern and well equipped and is ideally situated to explore north Wales, Snowdonia and the coast (and near to Zipworld and the forest rollercoaster!). The traffic noise didn’t bother us at all, to be honest we didn’t really notice it, the cows in the field behind made more noise! We loved the picnic area although the weather wasn’t that kind to us. The hosts were lovely and very helpful. Would definitely recommend this property.

Good location as a staging post for lots of places in north wales but quite noisy due to position next to a busy road. Internet and wifi signal was very poor - effectively unusable. Equipped with an ironing board but no iron.

“We Felt the bathroom / shower room was a bit small, compared to all the other rooms in the house, maybe could have had just one less bedrooms to make a bigger bathroom, Lovely location in the countryside with the small village, local shop, Plus a chocolate shop / café located just a few miles away, In a picturesque location by the river, Milk and Bara Brith was a lovely addition when we arrived, the Wi-Fi very fast, satellite tv and comfy sofas in the lounge.”

Kitchen and dining area very nice size and all the utilities in the kitchen you will ever need All in all a very good weeks holiday in north wales, enjoyed the stay and a great price to boot

“Lovely countryside location.”

Home from home with all the small touches like kitchen roll, cling film, tinfoil, iron and ironing board. Very roomy space wise. The most amazing shower. Learn how to use the oil heating/ hot water ( doesn’t take long to warm up )and you will have a great stay. Beds comfy. Well informed recycling system. Great base camp where after a long days exploring you can self cater as the fridge and freezer are large. Cooker electric so make sure time is on , so it works! Better still eat out, too many good places, but Tir A Mor in Llanrwst has the most superb fish and chips shop/ restaurant. 5* rated on trip advisor and we agreed. Research and plan ahead for the best Wales experience. Lastly, lots of toilets around Wales and all were clean.
