“Thank you to Bethan and Shon for letting us stay in their beautiful home.”

This was our third stay. The views are amazing. The cottage is in an ideal location to explore North Wales. We would love to come back next year.

The property

Nestled equally between Abergele and Colwyn Bay, in a semi-rural location in the village of Llysfaen, is this superb, semi-detached property.

Ty Gwyn Cottage has been designed to a superb standard, combining contemporary features while keeping with the character of the property, offering an exceptional escape for families and friends.

After parking up in the off-road parking space, take a moment to admire the picturesque country views across the valley before getting to know your new home-from-home.

Discover the spacious yet cosy lounge, enhanced with ample seating, a stonewall and a contemporary woodburner, making it a delightful spot to unwind following a day of rambling; gaze out the floor to ceiling windows to the surrounding countryside or tune into the Smart TV and catch up on your favourite shows.

Watch the oak flooring transition into flagstone flooring in the kitchen/diner, a contemporary space with an assortment of appliances, including a commanding range style cooker, fridge/freezer and granite worktops; budding chefs are sure to be pleased with this setup.

Off the kitchen is a separate utility room with washer/dryer and a shower room where you can wash any muddy attire and prepare for the day.

Make your way upstairs to the master bedroom, featuring high vaulted ceilings and large windows which overlook the rural scenery and capture glorious sunrises, plus there is a small Juliette balcony if you wish to open the doors and breath in the fresh air in the morning.

The remaining bedrooms continue this superb standard, each offering king-size beds and one boasting an en-suite shower room with rainfall shower.

On a warm evening, dine alfresco style upon the patio furniture, while on colder nights take advantage of the quirky garden room, complete with a bar, soft seating and an alluring woodburning stove.

Pop on your walking gear and ramble the expansive countryside of North Wales; for an amazing coastal view visit Mynydd Marian, a scenic nature reserve just a short walk away popular with walkers and dog walkers, where you can enjoy far reaching views from Colwyn Bay all the way to Abergele.

Hop in the car and head to Old Colwyn, where you can pick up any essentials or stop off for a hearty meal in a local pub.

While here, take a stroll along the promenade, taking you all the way from the town over to Rhos on Sea, where you will be met by a glorious stretch of golden sand, a heated outdoor paddling pool and an abundance of waterside eateries where you can celebrate a special occasion at.

For days out, immerse yourself in the history of Conwy Castle, enjoy the thrills of fairground rides at Llandudno Pier or take on the world’s fastest zip-line at Zip World Llechwedd.

Explore the delights of North Wales with a stay at Ty Gwyn Cottage.
